Darn, I was looking forward to a potential solid game between Highlands & Lex Cath. IMO this matchup without Bolin won't be close (Assuming Highlands beats Cov Cath and Lex Cath beats Boyle).

Mechanically, Sophomore Reece Ryan is very similar to Bolin. Ryan is on the national radar and was the top rising sophomore QB in Oklahoma City at the NUC national combine. He gets two pretty good games to get his wheels on - Taylor and Marion, and has a week off in between those before closing the regular season in Bowling Green - a tough game no matter who is at QB. So the set up is not bad for Ryan.

 

Senior leadership would be ideal if there is a rematch. But even without it the game plan and strategy will be almost exactly as they would be with Bolin taking the snaps. No goals have changed for the team.

 

But maybe your right. Can you just just mail the Semi-finalist trophy down? Maybe they should just cancel the game.....

He might be really good, but he would have started if he was better than Bolin. Even with Bolin, Highlands was ranked 2 spots higher on the state rankings with a big gap between 1 and 2.

All BGC is saying is that it is too early to tell if a potential Highlands/LexCath semifinal matchup won't be close because of the loss of Bolin. Plenty of time for Ryan to get comfortable and from what I have gathered he's going to be a good one. I seem to recall a sophomore named Kyle Bolin who was inserted into a regional semifinal game against Boyle County and almost engineered a miraculous comeback to win the game. When Bolin was inserted into the game he and LexCath outscored Boyle the remainder of the game. Unfortunately the Boyle lead was too much to overcome but we were scared. Be careful. I'm sure you won't believe it but don't say I didn't warn you.
