Ryle got lucky against Henry Clay who is not good this year.

The issues I see with Ryle are how are they utilizing all of their players and are they using them correctly? Their front line is huge but they are not gaining allot on the ground or in the air. What happened to others? Where is the backup QB from last year? He is not in their backfield? Where is the rest of their speed? How are some of their guys not going both ways? They have some big guys on the offensive line, why are they not playing on both sides of the ball? I am a Ryle fan and I think they will do well after they get past DeSales. They do not have a cupcake schedule...I just hope they do not lose confidence in themselves before the district. As for no other Northern Kentucky teams playing teams across the river (except for Cov Cath) that is another thread. UK#1 fan...cupcake schedule for Ryle?...If I remember correctly after SK got beat you were supposed to change your name or be nice or something like that....As iron sharpens iron.

Just because they haven't played a cupcake non-district schedule and racked up the wins doesn't mean they are "below average". Ryle dominated the game against a tough Henry Clay team. Now they don't have a game-breaking player like they did in previous years, but the bulk of this team is the same from last year. They will be a big factor is the NKY 6A district this year.

 

Now for this game, I haven't seen DeSales, but it will be a much better game for the Raiders than their showing last year. I believe this will be a very close game determined by a TD.

I will be rooting for Ryle to win this game. But to say Ryle dominated Henry Clay. You must have watched another game. Henry Clay had well over 300 yards rushing. And if not for a fumble on the 2 yard line on a hand off the game could have been even with a minute to go. Don't get me wrong, I want Ryle to win but they could easily be 0 - 3. We will find out on the 21st what coach was smarter. To schedule cup cakes or to play teams that are better. Good luck to Ryle.

Ground and pound only works in high school if you have a d1 tail back and close to d1 o line. It is better to have a system in place that provides balanced offense that can adjust to the talent that is available, rather then running the same offense year in and year out without regard to the talent that is available.

Are you talking about Hemple, because he averaged 18 attempts a game his senior year. He had 1200 yards in the air, and their offense had 4000 on the ground. Also, their freshman team is running the ball well. Against boone the other night they threw the ball three times in scoring 54 points. Of course, two of the throws were for touchdowns.

Lets see, in 14 games that works out to 86 yards a game if you round up. That sounds like good use of a D-1 QB. Anyway back to jolmsteads point, as long as you use the same game plan as the Boone County teams from the 1980's you are not going to win state in 6A. They could not do it with the MVP of the NFL. Back to this weeks game again I see DeSales winning by at least 14. I hope I'm wrong. I would like to see Ryle win. But I see a 5 and 5 season. 6 and 4 at best. IMHO

That d1 quarterback averaged over 110 yards rushing per game. He was responsible for 2400 yards of offense his senior year when he also had Elliot and Mullins on the same team. How can you claim he wasn't used?

No. They were beaten by a team who had 16 division I players on their roster.

Maybe you should start a thread about how wonderful Ryles play calling is. And let's get this one back to this weeks game.
