Plenty of teams throw screen passes on third downs trying for the first down. There will be pleny to complain about UK this year, but not on that.

I thought that punt should have been reviewed. If the ball was touching the goal line that means it would be a safety correct? Or is it that the whole ball needs to be in the end zone for it to be a safety?

Did these announcers even read their notes? They said that Louisville has dominated the series lately and UK has to win sometimes to make it a rivalry. He does realize UK has won four of the last five, right? Horrible preparation by the announcers.

You act like calling a screen pass means a team is not going for a first down, and so you would be wrong for acting like going for a screen pass means they weren't going for a first down. Teams on third down do go for screen passes sometimes because on third down you see teams bring the blitz and a screen is a good way to burn a blitz. Now should they do a screen pass every third down? No, but yes it is smart to do a screen on third down sometimes and does not mean they were not trying for the first down. So you are wrong on that. Just because it was not what you wanted to see, does not mean they weren't trying for it.

With that said the majority of the time this year, I will be agreeing with you when it comes to bad play calling.

I think on a muffed punt it would have been a touchback.
