I need some ideas

Featured Replies

I am looking for some names for a baseball round robin tournament that I may be putting together in March or April. I am simply looking for "catchy" names for the tourney. All ideas/suggestions will be appreciated.

What county or city will the possible tournament be played in?

Also what schools will the players from the "host" area be from?

This could help some folks out if you gave us that information. I have scene many, many differently named baseball tourneys over the years so I could give a few options.

"Slugger Fest '06", "March Baseball Madness", "Kick off 2006 Season Tourney" or just "Spring 2006 Tourney" hosted by ?? Good luck....

I've always been a fan of something like "The 2006 Diamond Dandy" or something cheesy like that.

I am kinda partial to Diamond Dandy myself....hahahah

If there is somebody close to the progam you could honor them by naming the tourney after them.

I appreciate the ideas! This tournament will be held(if all goes well) at Owsley County High School in late April, early May. It will be a weekend round robin tourney with local teams involved. I'll give you more info as it progresses. Thanks again

Since it will be held in Owsley County...home of the Owls...how about calling it the Barnyard Slugfest...playing on Owls living in barns sometimes? I'm actually at a lose for words right now. We just had a fie alarm go off here in the University Suites and I had to go outside and stand around for like 30 minutes in the cold. I'll try to come up with some better ideas in a little while.

I always like to see something with the word "Classic" in it - and I agree with using the locale in the name as well. I also agree with xtrabasehit about honoring someone.

So, it could be something like the "Frances Bavier Owsley County Classic". We already used "The Frances Bavier Battle of the Bats", and have had several requests for "The Frances Bavier Hook Slide Slugfest", so those probably aren't available...

On second thought, feel free to use any of them that you want to. I haven't copyrighted them or anything ...

Just some random musings ...

How about King of the Mountains Classic

Or how about the Barnyard Classic? I like the play on the nickname Owls.

Booneville Baseball Bash

Owsley County Diamond Classic

Owsley Baseball Tournament

Owsley County Baseball Fest

Sale out. Find you a local sponsor for $500 or $1000 and call it by whatever the sponsors name is and oh add the word "Classic" I don't know why but they always do that....Example Basketball has the "5th 3rd Classic" I'm pretty sure 5th 3rd Bank puts out some cash for that tourney.

I really appreciate all of these ideas. If this thing goes through, I will let you know which title we chose. THANKS AGAIN :ylsuper:

I have to say, sixtyfeetsix, that I'm partial to "The Frances Bavier Hook Slide Slugfest".

It has a certain panache, and I'm sure that it will boost your marketability to the over 80 female demographic.

Just something to consider ...
