I didn't even realize the HHS JV team played this week... Was this an add-on game after the schedule had been previously set? Where was the game played?

Not sure?? I believe it was played in Lexington..

Final Score

Josh Watson only 9 months removed from ACL surgery scored 4 TD's for the Birds at the RB spot.

It was in Lexington. Was not there, however, heard Houliston, Feggins, Hoge and WATSON had big games. The word I got was that "Watson is a MACHINE". Good win for the JV. Might be the easiest game of the season for the JV Birds...Look at their schedule! Brutal!

What time was the game yesterday?

What time was the game yesterday?

Game time was a source of consternation for many a Highlands fan as they arrived for the 7:30 start time only to see 1:00 minute remaining in the first quarter. I guess the decision was made to start early since both teams & officials were ready to go, and the kids had a decent bus ride home ahead of them. Not sure though.

First off, beautiful facilities for Bryan Station. Not sure how old the new school is, but the entire facility is gorgeous.

Pretty good football game, with as earlier posters said, Josh Watson running wild. Hadn't seen the kid play in a while & forgot how fast he is. Glad to see him back from injury so strong. Of course he couldn't have done that w/out the awesome job done by the O-line. The holes weren't big, they were cavernous - '73 Cadillac Eldorado wide.

Defense played pretty well against a very slippery BS QB in the first half, but since I only saw the second quarter....

In the second half, a different QB took over for BS - #12 - and did well, but they weren't able to move the ball like in the first half. Highlands D stepped up and made some nice stops. Ayers (#36) was in the QB's face seemingly the entire 4th quarter. Nice contributions from HHS players on both sides of the ball in the second half to seal the win.

One take away was the poor attendance by BS fans at home. You've got a very nice team there. Give 'em the support they deserve!

Watson did run hard and well. However, kudos go out to the OL which was creating big holes and significant push. Houliston looked solid and eluded a strong rush by the Defenders.

Big shout out to #54 Vermeil who forced a huge fumble as Bryan Station was driving late in the 4th to tie or take the lead.

Not sure if the Bryan Station varsity team played Friday night. If not, would not surprise me if some of their "varsity-ish" underclassmen dressed out for this game. They had some serious size and athleticism. If not, they have a very strong program coming up.

NOTE: No complaints intended from the comment as HHS used underclassmen that played some on Friday night (they almost have to with the significant rotations they are using at most positions) AND HHS would rather play better competition as witnessed by the schedule.

Midway through the 4th quarter HHS was faced with a fourth and 12 at the Bryan Station 46.

HHS sent in the punt team - then called time out.

Birds came out of the time-out with the decision to go for it.

Houliston recieved the shotgun snap at the 50 - he took 2 steps back and threw the ball to Hoge. Drew released the ball straddling the HHS 47 yard line. Hoge received the lateral at the HHS 46. Hoge threw a nice long ball that was caught by Feggins who was tackled at the 2 yard line. Should have been first and goal with the Birds ready to extend the lead to double digits.

The white hat threw a flag and called the Birds for an illegal forward pass, which of course carries a loss of down with the yardage assessment. Ball turned over to BS in Birds territory. The official was standing on the 40 yard line and could not have with any certainty made that call. I have the advantage of watching the play on Hudl.

For those with access to Hudl and the film , it is play #125.

Agree! At one point in the 2nd Q, I counted 34 fans in the stands for Bryan Station. Maybe they got a different start time as did the HHS people. Don't know. Either way, not a good showing for fan support.
