Pendleton 82 Mason 79 2OT

Featured Replies

Excellent game played by both teams. Pendleton led by 12 at the half but Mason was able to tie the game by the end of the 3rd qtr. Mason Cty had a 5 point lead with I believe 55 seconds to go and let it slip away. They also had a chance to win it at the end of the 1st OT but an easy put back came up a little short. Tremendous game played by two very nice teams that I'm certain will meet again. Patrick Elliott is an absolute pleasure to watch play the game. Nothing fancy, he just gets it done.

One of the best HS games that I've ever witnessed! A hard fought battle between both teams. Sharp is right when he said that there was no loser. Congrats goes to both teams.

There were numerous big shots in the game from both teams. Darius Miller and Russ Middleton seemed unstopable at times. I thought a big key in the game was during the first OT when Middleton got fouled and he started to get leg cramps. We was unable to shoot the ft's, so they put #11 in to shoot them. He ended up missing both, but that was very tough to do in a crucial part of the game.

Pendleton's Tyler Mains was on fire in the first half. He led the Cats to a big lead in the first half. Terry Davis was huge in the overtime's hitting big 3 after big 3. The other three starters (Belcher, Elrod, and Elliott) also scored in double figures.

It was kind of suprising that in a double overtime game that only one player fouled out (Miller).

Congrats to Pendleton County on winning their first ever MCIT! Also congrats on extending their 22 game win streak over 10th region opponents.

Your correct Mains had a much smaller Scott guarding him and drove down the lane and pulled up over him .I thought Miller fouling out would really hurt Mason but Middelton put them on his back in the OTS.

:flame: gREAT gaME

Maybe thats why his leg started cramping. :jump:

That was a great game tonight. I congradulate the Wildcats on their big win tonight. I do agree that the Wilscats out lasted the Royals, no doubt about it. The Royals played a great game tonight, but someone had to win in the end and the Widlcats came out on top. Good luck to both teams the rest of the season.

This was a great game and i just want to point out how much of a big time player Jon Elrod is. This kid just hits big shots after big shots. Tonight he hit 2 from the foul line that helped send it to the 2 OT. He then hit a big 3 in OT to give the Cats the early lead. Whenever PC needs a big shot he comes through and he showed it again tonight.

Elrod is amazing. How many big shots has he hit in his career? Ice water in the veins!

I remember he hit a big shot in the state tourny to send the game into OT.

Terry Davis hit a couple huge shots, and came up with 16 on the night. I thought Elliott done about as well as you can do on Miller, when he was putting mason on his shoulders late in the game.

Sounds like a dandy....

If you need a 3 in the last seconds of a game, and you had your pick of 10th region athletes, I think you'd be crazy if you didn't pick Jon Elrod.....

The season finale for both teams on Feburary 24 will be an absolute treat.....

Had the pleasure to watch Mason at the 5/3rd, and they seemed to have moments where they couldn't hit a basket, then caught fire. This team is dangerous, especially when Miller and Turner are playing well....

Haven't got to see Pendleton yet, but I look forward to Jan. 25 when they visit Paris to take on Bourbon Co.

What a game; Pendleton's seniors outlasted Mason's sophomores. Darius Miller fouled out on a phantom call with less than a minute left in regulation; but this one couldn't be blamed on the officials as Mason had their chances to win. Up 66-61 and 68-63 with less than a minute left in the first OT. Freshman guard Middleton had 24, sophomore Miller 22, Mikah Turner had 19 points and 12 boards; Pendleton had nice games from Elliott, Davis and a spectacular first half from Mains. Pendleton was able to take advantage when Miller was out, in the first half with foul trouble and then in OT; that was the difference in the game IMHO.

Excellent game, one of the best games I have seen, but the difference in the game was 3 points. Mason came back from 12 at the half, but lets remember that PC also had to come back, twice, with under a minute to go,or close to it both times. :Go Wildcats!!!!!!!

That may have been the best high school game i have ever saw. It was unbelivable. The Wildcats were not going to giv up. Never winning the MCIT was a big obstacle to overcome but they got the job done last night. Elrod, Davis, Mains, Belcher, and Elliott, are a very good starting five. It showed tonight with the clutch 3 ball by davis and the free throws for Elrod.

GO CATS!!!!

How bout it for the Mason Cheering section!!!! The sixth man is an understatement

I believe Pendleton's was just as big and as loud. Both sides were rocking.Great game!
