Hate to see the series end. The 8K attendance is way overblown. Maybe 2500-3000 at the most. And much less of paying customers.

I'll be curious to see who replaces Raceland on Russell's schedule. Maybe they have someone else lined up for that already.

I would love to hear the true reason to the schedule change but as in most things, we will hear an announcement of a reason but the truth will be behind closed doors somewhere over on Red Devil Lane.

 

Who knows, maybe they can schedule Greenup 2 or 3 times a year...........

I should clarify, I am a little upset by some of the adults at Russell for making this happen, but many of the players at both schools are friends and like playing each other and giving the loser a hard time in fun. I really hate to see the series end for the players, I know they like it. Plus, it was a good money game for both schools, at least until last year.

I don't know, at least the second year of the series at Russell was at least 5K, that stadium was pretty darn full. Exact numbers? I really don't know.

Greenup dropped us for a couple week two years ago until the Greenup AD got involved due to the money the game generated.

 

Boyd County dropped us two years ago saying, "they needed someone they could be more competitive with".

Wow that does not surprize me one bit. Heck raceland clould have beat them in 2006 when they were state champs. 1a is alot better teams than 3a. It was turning into a JV game for raceland anyway. I think raceland should go for Ironton.
