He looked good, Bracken split carries between 3 or 4 backs, 45 and 10 both were tough little runners.

The Qb looked to be a solid player, The kid looked around 6'3 or 6'4 range with a solid arm. He threw a nice touchdown pass, he was #9.

Not anyone in the school system that height unless there have been some transfers over the summer, the Houston boys that played last year are in the 6'1 range, but neither was a QB, maybe Randy Parker can get some scoop on the roster before the opening game, who's playing,who's not. The roster on the website has not been updated,still has McClain as QB.

Jacob is around 5'9-5'10. Scott Fite could have had a growth spurt, he was trying out for QB last I heard.

I talked to one of Bracken's coaches. It was a Houston He's a junior and around 6'3.

Bracken looked to be the better team at this point, even thought the score doesn't indicated that. Trimble looks very young, and in the beginning it showed. However they did get better as the scrimmage went along. Defensively Trimble has a lot of strong players and if they can keep healthy should do very well. Offensively Trimble struggled a bit, their line created some holes but didn't hold their blocks well and allowed for what should have been big gains to be little ones, it looked as though several of the lineman were smaller and younger, which means they can only get better with some experience.

 

Bracken surprised me a bit, offensively they looked ready to go, however their plays were very predicable, which for a scrimmage is fine, but if it continues into the season could be a problem for them. Bracken receivers need to learn how to run pass routes, their big TE would get into open field every time and just stop and stand there instead of continuing down field. Bracken's defense had a good swarm to it from the LB's and DB's. The DLine got penetration but had a hard time finding the ball in the backfield.

 

Would be interesting to see how these teams would match up in a full game situation, and I think both will improve drastically this year.

Trimble County does, as does Bracken County. Justin Franklin served as an assistant coach at DuPont Manual prior to taking over at Trimble County.
