June 24, 201214 yr I would agree if it were close. But it isn't close. As good as Rickey was Bonds numbers are much, much better. And you can't use the PED argument against Bonds if you are going to include A-Rod and Clemens. And your comparison had one incorrect stat : Bonds, not Henderson is the all-time walks leader. Rickey was a leadoff hitter and the best ever, he was also more than likely clean...Bonds was a 3/4 hitter and maybe the best ever, he was also more than likely using...You cant really say one is better than the other when they are both arguably the best ever at what they each did...Did the Rocket have a better career than Maddux?, because he racked up more Ks not necessarily...They both excelled at what they did and are some of the best ever... And Ill admit I included A-Roid on my list and I probably shouldnt have but I also dont think he benefited the way that Bonds did from them...One more thing that I respect A-Rod for is coming public and apologizing, Bonds could gain some respect from me if he told his story... Bonds weight gain and power increase in his record breaking year blow away anything A-Rod did...A-Rod didnt swell up quite like Bonds and some of A-Rods increase in production also came from playing in Texas...Bottom line is both players were studs without steroids and neither one really needed them but A-Rod has admitred and moved on while Bonds is still in denial...

Sorry that was a click and paste info from a baseball site I was looking at... Bonds numbers are right on par with the best in history, I'll agree to that. I don't use the PED against Bonds. I used the fact that I never liked him, didn't like him as a Pirate or a Giant. In some cases it's ok to have personal bias, I sure do.... I did get past my life long disdain for the Red Sox to pick some to my all-time teams though
