No Dawg. Conner has the best freshman class in NKY coming in.

Saw all 8th grade teams in NKY this year and the St Mary's girls were good but not as good as Connor or Gray from what I saw.

You might be right about Conner , I didnt see them because I was told they all played up . But ST. Marys beat Gray by 15 in their only match up this year, So Like I said BBHS will have ONE of the best freshman class's this year.

I am really not sure about this at all, but I was told by someone that possibly the best player in this years 8th grade class at St. Marys is going to NewCath or Notre Dame. Can't recall her name but is there any truth to that?

I know most of the players on Gray, St Mary and Conner. All very good. However, a couple of St Mary players won't end up at Brossart. NCC will get one and not sure where the other will go(maybe ND). Maybe others too. They do have some really nice big girls coming though, but may have some opportunity with guard play.

But you also have to consider Highlands incoming freshman. As 8th graders, Highlands had one that started 90% of their varsity games, one that won their varsity 6th man award for the year and started at times and one that was about 8th man on their varsity roster. That was with 3 seniors and 7 juniors in their program last year. I will say that Campbell co and Newport also have very good freshman coming in.

Not to take anything away from gray and the others, but the 8th grade talent was very diluted around the area last year. Conner, Highlands, Simon Kenton, Newport, Holy Cross, Beechwood, Bellevue, Villa and Walton all had multiple 8th graders playing up last year. So judging the 8th grade league last year is not very good insight of what's really out there.

Annsly Davenport. She is the point guard. Nice player. I think you would get arguments about her being their best player, but she would definitely be one of them if not the best. Think she will end up at NCC. One of the other big girls is one that may end up at ND. Mostly for soccer, but is a pretty good bball player too.

correct - That St Mary team had balance and chemistry - no one player on that team stood out. They were very well coached. The "bigs" are going to Brossart and the guard to NC

Agree. 1 meeting in 8th grade doesn't tell the story. And the earlier post about HHS is dead on too - I'd take those 8th graders playing together (which they didn't do because they all moved up) over Saint Mary. Don't get ahead of yourself BBHS lovers. The difference maker from Saint Mary is going to NCC.

Bishop Brossart won the Ludlow team camp beating both Campbell County and Highlands along the way. Congrats to Coach Feldmann. They are heading south this week for the Transylvania Camp

Congrats to the Lady Stangs. Sounds like they are the real deal again this season.

I am going to try and make it a point to see the game against Highlands this season.

Hopefully Highlands can hang with them this year as it seems that BBHS has had their number for some reason.

St. Mary dismantled Gray by 15 points. Brossart gets the motherload plus some nice players from St. Joseph and St. Philip Sts. Peter and Paul.
