Mason County 10 Bracken County 3

Mild upset, maybe?

On the one hand, "mild upset" is a good way to put it. But on the other hand, when you look at how this game played itself out, I consider that to be a huge upset.

It's both a very good win for Mason County & a very ugly loss for Bracken County. I love my Lady Bears, and hope they can turn this thing around, but inconsistency has been their M.O. all year long.

Congrats to the Lady Royals & best of luck to both squads in next week's regional.

Brossart just beat Mason Co. on Senior Night at Mason 14-3

:ohbrother:

And what did you do against Bracken this year?

Brossart was held scoreless, while Bracken scored 12 runs, 19 of which were unearned.

When is the 10th Region draw?

Saturday I believe

Can a pitcher have a negative ERA?

I would rather be short-gamed during the regular season to Bishop Brossart( if people on here are still stuck on that one victory than lose to Mason County at any time(especially district finals). They can erase this with a couple of victories in the regional tournament though, so there is still that. Good luck LB's and right the ship next week.

It's not so much losing to Mason County, but rather losing the District that matters most to me. A District championship gives you a better opportunity to advance in the Regional Tournament. While there is much more parity this year than in years past, drawing a District loser is better than drawing a winner. Of course, if you draw the 40th District either way, it's a bad draw. If a team outside the 40th District wants to win the region, I think they'll have to beat both 40th District teams to do so. I think only Harrison County has the firepower to accomplish that.

In losing, the Lady Bears have made the Regional Tournament a tougher road than it would have been had they won it.

That win was brought up simply because of BGH's post which was of no relation to the thread title. I am not stuck on any win---I can assure of that. Bracken's season has been like a roller coaster and as RP pointed out, the Lady Bears have lacked consistency throughout the season. I don't ever wanna lose...not to Brossart...not to Mason...not to anyone, but I've learned that there are alot worse things in life than losing a game, regardless of when it occurs. We just have to deal with the outcome of the draw and do the best we can to win a regional game or two.

And to think that we have had folks on here accuse you of being a Mason County guy.lol.gif I've tried to set them straight.

Good luck to both squads in the regional tourney. While I'm first and foremost a Mason County supporter; I actually have several friends to the west and always wish them well.thumb[1].gif

Have many, many great friends in Mason County and several posters(yourself included) from Mason County who I always enjoy the opinion of and hearing from. Mason County has and always will be the bar that Bracken County shoots for, as well as of late Bishop Brossart because of being an A school.

5-star post.

By the way, interesting role-reversal this year. MC breaks the BC district softball stranglehold this year; BC returns the favor in baseball.
