Seems like an awful large expenditure for a "goodwill" or "marketing" event that benefits an extremely limited audience. I guess "waste, fraud and abuse" doesn't apply when it comes to the DOD budget. Where's the outrage from all the hardcore NoKy Tea Partiers?

I've seen figures run between $75-100K. Assuming this is done as a recruitment tool, that seems like a gross expenditure for a limited audience.

Obviously that could be said anytime they fly their jets except during shows. Someone must figure it's good for them on some level or they wouldn't allow it. I don't know how limited the audience is as I don't know what the numbers are for the cincinnati market.

Greg Hiltz (John's younger brother) spent some time interning with a view of the Pacific Ocean. John would give him a call & say "Look out your window" and watch John go flying by.

Jim, you diminish your already shrinking credibility when you start throwing the labels around. On what do you base your idea that I am a Tea Partier? Facts please this time as you neglected to check your facts before you posted. The cost to fly the jet to and back would not have exceeded $25,000 and may have been as little as $8000 according to aviation websites. At that cost the market they reached would be reasonable since it was not only in the paper and on the internet, but also on the TV news. I'd say a fair amount of people saw the story. Certainly more than go to many of their shows.

FWIW it is my understanding that John speaks regularly at graduation ceremonies. This was his first appearance at Covington Catholic.
