May 25, 201214 yr Are the folks in administration allowed to access the phone in any way? Photos, text messages, etc? Do you mean of the students? No. They are locked in a safe as soon as they are confiscated.
May 25, 201214 yr Do you mean of the students? No. They are locked in a safe as soon as they are confiscated.Thanks.. There was an instance in one of the local schools where the principal accessed a students phone and there was some legal implications.
May 25, 201214 yr Given the results, I'd say the shool should have a rule making recording of the class mandatory. spot on mate!
May 26, 201214 yr I am absolutely certain that this teacher made a similarly strong stand when President George Walker Bush was our Commander-in-Chief and was treated "disrespectfully"
May 28, 201214 yr I rhink just after Columbine there was talk about how important it is for students to be able to have access to their phones in emergency situations. I tend to agree, if a student has a phone out when they shouldnt then I agree with how TB&G's school handles it.
June 13, 201214 yr I know that was intended as a joke and it was funny, but I think that the ability of kids to cut a video that would make even the best teacher look like a fool makes it mandatory that recording devices (at least by students) be kept out of the classrooms. Teaching is a tough enough job that they don't need every word they say as a potential you tube moment. Maybe it would be a good idea to just put cameras in every class room. Many work places other than schools have cameras. That way the administration can keep up with not only what the students are doing but also what the teachers are doing.
