Former Boyle County assistant/head coach Chris Pardue is to be named Head Coach at Mercer County today or tomorrow.

 

This has hit twitter and Facebook so I feel it is safe to mention it now. He is who I heard was mentioned as the new coach last night.

Great man. Great coach. Great hire.

None of this really matters who they hire. Until the administration decides that they are going to support a coach it will not matter. When the parents know all they have to do is go complain to the administration and they will listen it will never end. You can have a strong coach but when he knows the administration does not have his back it is tough. I know the answer things are changing at Mercer well we have heard that forever and it hasn't happened yet. That lack of support plus the finacial crisis that the district appears to be in is a recipe for disaster.

 

Pardue is one heck of a coach and is a great choice I just hope that for once the administration will support their man.

Is Chris Pardue related to Steve Pardue in any way/shape/form?

I'd love to see Pardue do well and get a chance to succeed at Mercer County.

I look for the new Superintendent to support his coach and I think Pardue will be a good hire. He won't take the parents getting to involved. Davis (the new super) played for French in High school and one of his assistants was Chuck Smith. I think with him offerring Hester and then naming Pardue, you can see what his vision for the program is!
