Seems like we know where the toughest places are to play a good game of basketball now let's figure out who has the best place to play. For example, whose gym may actually feel like home to some away teams. Who has the best facilities overall. :jump:

CCH because of the enviroment. Nothing too fancy about the gym, but the students love their team and they love to make it a great atmosphere. Makes great fun for parents, alumni and futute highschool students.

Agree with CCH, and second the idea it's not for the facilities, but the atmosphere!! Ryle certainly has the best facility, but kind of a "sterile" environment (reminds me a little of old Riverfront Stadium). I'm also fond of the atmosphere of the Campbell County Middle School gym in the games I've seen there. Those who haven't experienced it should try to come to the 10th region all "A" regionals upcoming. CC did a great job refurbing this facility (no bad seats, great sightlines), and it can get pretty rowdy with the right matchup!! NKU's a kinda' fun place to play as well!!

HC also has a good atmosphere because of the size of the gym. But it is always best when student sections can battle across the gym, but it's not possible there.

I will throw out Grant County. I think it is a nice place to watch a game. I really missed the Eagle Bank Classic this season. I hope it returns next year. I also wants to throw out props to "Bobby Burgess" who runs the concession stand at Grant county. They have some of the best food and great prices, and he always feeds the opposing team, he is one classy individual.

Most players I've talked to have loved playing at Thomas More & a lot really liked Holmes. This is not for atmosphere but rather just comfort in general. They really liked the spring in the floor at TM and the rims (shooting environment) at Holmes.

As far as atmosphere, I'd say Holy Cross. It's the prettiest gym in NoKy with the wood ceiling/beams and the fans are super close to the action. The fans who are in the stands are usually the rowdy students, while the parents/adults who don't wish to get rowdy can enjoy the game in the chairs behind the benchs.

Thomas More and NKU offer both teams nice locker rooms, which most high schools can't. Ryle has a nice place to play, bad locker areas though. CovCath is a great overall place to play. Holmes is a great place for both teams as well. They do a great job overall at both schools.
