Boxing out is legal as long as you do not cause a player to lose a position that they have legaly obtained. When you push back, the player behind you has the position first and that is legaly a foul.

Most , if not all, of the NKY games I've seen this year have 3 refs.

 

Maybe it is the smaller schools that only have 2 refs. I used to live in NKY and rarely saw three referees and in the Lexington area I have gone to a half dozen games this season and have only seen 2 referees.

Title IX. If you are going to have 3 officials for boys, who may need them, you HAVE to have 3 officials for girls. Cost is about $60-70 more per game.

Officials get paid less for three person crew vs. 2 person crew so increase per game is only $20-$30
