Naw. I wouldn't bet on a Kobe-less Laker team against 98% of the NBA. I didn't think they'd get beat like that though.

Yep. But I didn't start a thread praising the Lakers success this season. Nor would I. I know where the Lalers stand. I know where the Spurs stand also. Don't puff your chest out until they get to round 2. Either way it goes the Spurs will be lucky to make the Western Conference Finals.

I am saying the Spurs are a good team.

The Spurs are winning by a lot right now. I believe they will wrap up the #1 seed tonight.

The run they are on is quite remarkable. I know a lot want to discount what they have done, but no person saw this coming. Popovich has done a tremendous job and some of their personnel decisions have been great. Raise your hand if you thought they would be in the position they would be in today? The 2 losses in their present run (20 out of 22 games) had one game in which their big 3 did not even make the trip, and the other game those big 3 only played about 20 minutes. Very conceivable they could have been entering the playoffs on a 23 game winning streak. They have also tanked games and rested starters all through the season or I think they would have another 4 or 5 victories on the season. And they have not been just beating teams, they have been annihilating some of their recent competition. Not saying they will win the title, but this is not your typical boring Spurs team. Most do not realize they are virtually tied for being the leading scoring team in the NBA. Parker has been great.

I think Duncan gets #5 this year.

Hard to argue with their results at this point. We'll see if they can sustain it.
