April 12, 201214 yr I think I've had every beer Bell's makes. One of my favorite breweries. I lean towards stouts and IPAs, they are my favorites. I buy as much Hoplslam as I can lay my hands on when it comes out. I love IPA's as well. Hopslam is good stuff. If you like IPA's give Stone a try if you haven't already. I'm in love with their Double Oaked Arrogant Bastard and Ruination IPA.
April 12, 201214 yr If you like stouts. New Holland's Dragon's Breath is shipping now. It's a bourbon barrell aged stout, and is phenominal. Party Source here I come... I love bourbon barrel stouts. I had the pleasure of trying Founder's Canadian Breakfast Stout (http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/1199/47658) on tap at Molly Malone's in Covington during beerfest up here about two months ago. Probably the best stout I have ever tasted. I think they have only brewed this twice. Edited April 12, 201214 yr by Lucky Charms

April 12, 201214 yr I've not had it. I'll put it on my bucket (o'beers) list. They have only brewed this twice in the last 4 years, I think. Highly sought beer, going to be pretty hard to find but do let me know if you do.

I'm a German beer kinda guy - although I do frequently dabble in IPA's.

I don't know if you can still get it. It is always very limited release. Full Sail Brewing's Topsail Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Porter. Only in 22oz bottles.
April 12, 201214 yr There are now 49 micro breweries in Michigan. And some of them are at the top of the list. Bell's, Founder's, and New Holland are big time main stays now. North Peak is an up and comer, but I don't think you can get them south of Toledo yet.

Bluegrass music and you kind of feel like you are in a church. Their "beer garden" leaves much to be desired. Founder's is my next place to hit up while up that way. cwf, another IPA that I had awhile back was Racer 5. I got it in a growler while in Hilton Head, SC. Very, very good. Similar qualities to Bell's Two Hearted. I could talk beers all day long. I'm getting thirsty...

April 12, 201214 yr My advice for a happy marriage. Marry a girl who likes beer. Mrs C likes the brew pubs as much as I do and we visit at least one or two where ever we go.

That is definitely one of the few beers that I would do some traveling to get. Big time maple syrup notes followed by the bourbon/alcohol. Yummie! Also, about your post above. My wife tells me that her grandfather used to work at Bavarian as well. I drive by that place all the time thinking to myself, "If I only had the money..." then shaking my head. Your post also inspired me to read up on some of the history of the place. There are a lot of familiar last names associated with Bavarian Brewing.
