April 30, 201214 yr I think after last night the show is officially on its way. Are the still sticking with the book pretty well? Last night's show was awesome.
April 30, 201214 yr Some things have changed a bit. Margery is older in the series then she is in the books and she appears much more ambitious in the series then in the books. There are several characters in the books that aren't in the series mostly people in Winterfell that aren't in the series. My gf who knows nothing about the show/books, said " He was eye balling her like he wanted her." Said yup, then remembered how that starts the downfall. Then in ASOS remembered the Red Wedding and that hurt me some. Another spoiler, maybe. I dont know if its ACOK or ASOS but...I am curious about how they bring in Barriston Selmy aka Whitebeard into Dany's world. I wonder if they will make him noticeable right away or have no way of telling its him.
April 30, 201214 yr Author Are the still sticking with the book pretty well? Last night's show was awesome. They are doing almost exactly like season 1. There is alot of backstory things they are doing that are not in the books, but those have turned out to be like "missing chapters" in the books. Like the whole part with Theon and the other sailors weren't in the books but you could picture stuff like that happening. Also I'm loving Jaqen H'ghar and Xaro Xhoan Daxos characters. They are minor characters but they are portrayed very well IMO.
May 22, 201214 yr This last episode seemed like a "calm before the storm" type thing to me... This week should be one of the best episodes to date. It was written by GRRM and has the highest budget of any previous episode. I'm expecting an epic battle at King's Landing. This show just keeps getting better and better! I think I might read the books as soon as this season ends... I won't be able to resist any longer.
May 23, 201214 yr Author This season has strayed far away from the books. I have no idea what's going on with Dany or Jon. The Bran part was the closing scene. I dont mind it but its different. Next episode will be all action. GRRM actually wrote the script for it.
May 23, 201214 yr I can't wait for the upcoming episode. While different I can see how they are going to get where they need to be with Jon. FWIW I just finished Feast For Crows. I can't wait to see that stuff on TV.

I thinly AFFC was the weakest book in the series so far. It took me my second read through to really enjoy it. I am curious if and when HbO picks up season 4 and 5 how they will end up doing them. They take place at the same time but in different parts of the world.

They take place at the same time but in different parts of the world.I've always thought they'd do it chronologically instead of geographically. I don't see HBO wanting to essentially ignore several main characters for an entire season. Kind of like how they have shown Rob Stark in this season. AFFC is definitely the weakest and my least favorite book.
May 28, 201214 yr In my opinion, best game of thrones episode of both seasons. I agree. Really saw some glimpses of the characters that set up for what's to come in the future.
