I have watched June Buchanan play several games this year and the 8th grader Cox is the shooter of the two. Stepp handles the ball well but doesnt shoot very well outside of the paint. I've talked to a couple of coaches who play them this month and they plan to stop Stepp from penetrating and keep Cox from getting a lot of open looks.

I have a question and I truly mean no harm in any way I am just curious. I thought the cox player was in 8 th grade last year, but I could be mistaken. Professor keep up the good work.

He was in 7th grade. He had held back twice and once was in 7th grade then the other in a lower grade.

Cox is eligible to play all 4 years of high school. He is not the only kid in Knott Co. that was held back in the 7th grade. I believe there were some 8th graders held back in the 8th grade 2 years. Richardson. Amburgy, and Christian were 8th graders held back in the 8th for another year, and Stamper and Spencer held back in the 7th the same year.

That's interesting. I wonder how long it takes Patman or someone else from Knott to say this isn't true if these players are at Knott Central.

Its true. Stamper and Spencer are 8th graders and the rest are Freshmen this year. I don't know if Christian plays anymore .

Isn't Collins also held back also but it was in a young grade though. Richardson and Amburgey and Christian was all only held back once.Stamper and Spencer was not held back in 7th grade it was in 4th grade.

Yes that is true, i have no problem with Cox begin held back everyone has done it. Chrstian isn't playin this year he is playing next year though.

Amburgey is the right age though Cox is older then him and is in a grade below him

Collins wasn't held back unless it was in the very early years. I know they held Richardson, Amburgy, and Christian back in the 8th grade. Your right every body does it. Most do it before the 8th grade.

I think he was held back in younger grades, i'm pretty sure he was. Cox and Stamper has been battling it out on the court most of there lifes both are good guards it should be great to see how this one turns out. Carr Creek and June Buchanan both had some good young talent last season.

Amburgey is 2 days younger than Cox.

Thats it true JBS and Carr Creek played a great game last year going into Double overtime, Carr Creek won by 2. When they are seasons and Juniors this shoudl be a great district matchup. It was a very exicting game.
