  1. No stealing a win in this one, Aces dominated the game from tip to final buzzer.
  2. Owensboro Catholic dominated this game from the tip. Maybe the biggest upset in the state for a region final. Everyone in the packed Sportscenter was as shocked as I was as it unfolded. It’s hard to remember a bigger win for the Aces.
  3. It is likely a PWO since Murray State already signed a QB out of Illinois. Good addition to the Racers though...
  4. We Aces fans are just as surprised as you all are. Credit to McLean, they lined up and ran it right down the field and made a couple of big 4th down conversions in the fourth quarter. Game was won in the trenches and Hartz and company just didn’t get many possessions. The Hartz to Edge connection is special and accounted for four tds, but lots of crucial drops and a bad fumble driving to take a two score lead really killed critical drives. What a career by Drew Hartz, re-wrote the Ocath record book but gotta have a defense to go along with that big offense. Congrats to McLean.
  5. Todd chewed up lots of clock but couldn’t convert into points. Qb Drew Hartz had 302 yds passing and TDs to four different receivers . Dre Thruston with big game, scoring rushing TD, receiving TD and punt return TD.
  6. Good story on this game Aces not looking past Rebels in first round - The Owensboro Times
  7. Its the curse of a 2A school in Ky for Hartz. Unless you win a state championship, odds are he won't get any looks from a D1. I don't think he played baseball for the Aces last year...
  8. Hagan Edge from Owensboro Catholic, 64 catches, 1283yds, 20 TDS
  9. Hartz had 5 tds and 1 int. Aces could not stop Hogg but it was back and forth into the third quarter when a fumble at the goal line as Mundy was going into the end zone completely turned the game. That would have made it 28-28, but Apollo opened the floodgates after that.
  10. I believe he was pointing out whether Hartz or Edge could play in college based on their level of high school competition.
  11. How does 24-35 376yds and 4tds sound? That was when Hartz and Ocath beat Owensboro last year. So there's that. OHS defense is lights out this year and nobody is really scoring on them, but throwing out the weak schedule thing has been the go-to against OC all year...and to a degree I agree. Gotta beat somebody to be somebody...
  12. ATLcat is right on the money about OCath's Hartz and Edge. I caught a glimpse when they won the small school division 7v7 tournament at McCracken back in July and thought they've got something special that could be fun to watch. Drew Hartz is the real deal, but the lack of big wins in the playoffs keeps him off most people's radar. Call it bias or blinders, its a shame this kid and Edge aren't getting D1 looks.
  13. OCath is in need of a tough game going into playoffs and I think that's exactly what Apollo will bring. Being a city rival, I expect this to be a great game.
  14. After seeing what Owensboro has done to the rest of their schedule, that’s not as bad a loss as it seemed at the time.
