  1. Good luck trying to knock Hopkinsville's non-district schedule in 2017: Scrimmage: Owensboro Week 0: South Warren Week 1: Mayfield Week 2: Caldwell Co. Week 3: Christian Co. Week 4: Paducah Tilghman Week 5: BYE Week 6: Madisonville-North Hopkins Week 7: Logan Co. Week 8: Calloway Co. Week 9: Hopkins Co. Central Week 10: Greenwood
  2. Tim Haworth played in the 1997 Sweet Sixteen for Graves County and has led Hopkinsville to four trips (2012-2015) to Rupp Arena as the coach. Haworth also played in the NCAA Tournament for Murray State....that might be a tough one to top.
  3. Hopkinsville basketball coach wins list. 1. Daryl Hallmark, 1982-1992 180-89 (.669) 2. Tim Haworth, 2009-present 150-29 (.838) 3. Terry Hayes, 1996-2006 149-133 (.528) 4.. 4. 1. Sebree's visit to UK was UNOFFICIAL. 2. If we're analyzing photos to make decisions about the validity of said visit, here is another one with Sebree, his Mom and an attentive-looking John Calipari on the practice court.
  5. There are some who don't think this matters or simply won't care, but I think it's a fun list to follow. Through Wednesday afternoon, there are seven unbeaten teams in the state. That number will definitely be knocked down to six tonight when Meade plays at Mercer in the Farmers National Bank Clash of Titans championship game. 1st Region: McCracken County (8-0), Paducah Tilghman (9-0) 2nd Region: Christian County (9-0) 3rd Region: Meade County (10-0) 4th Region: Franklin-Simpson (9-0) 7th Region: Trinity (9-0) 12th Region: Mercer County (10-0)
  6. Jalen Johnson and James Nicholas both went out injured and Kourtney Ware, Shorty Cager and Josiah Patton all fouled out during that stretch. Not an excuse, but those are five guys who have all started this year at some point. Other than CJ Henagan, who had 22 points, the guys who were left on the floor weren't used to that environment. Also didn't help that Hoptown missed double-digit free throws.
  7. With three different teams that have current streaks of four straight regional championships, I thought it'd be interesting to show what kind of company Hopkinsville, Johnson Central and/or Knott County Central would be joining if any were to win a FIFTH straight this season. Please let me know if I left someone out. Five or more is pretty incredible. FOUR straight regional titles Henderson Barret (1922-25) Frankfort (1923-1926) Central City (1928-1931) Tompkinsville (1932-1935) Inez (1934-1937) Harlan (1942-1945) Dawson Springs (1944-1947) Maysville (1945-1948) Paducah Tilghman (1967-70) Clay County (1973-1976) Paintsville (1995-1998) Hopkinsville (2012-15) Johnson Central (2012-2015) Knott County Central (2012-2015) FIVE straight regional titles Danville (1932-1936) Valley (1943-1947) Male (1944-1948) Breathitt County (1959-1963) Covington Catholic (1967-1971) Ashland Blazer (1976-1980) Oldham County (1985-1989) SIX straight regional titles Owensboro (1946-1951) Clark County (1947-1952) Corbin (1947-1952) Owensboro (1970-1975) Owensboro (1979-1984) Warren Central (2002-2007) SEVEN straight regional titles St. Xavier (1937-1943) Clay County (1984-1990)

  10. Typically I would agree that a less-difficult schedule (and subsequent wins) is not helpful to a team heading into the playoffs. BUT, given all the adversity and tragedy this particular Hopkinsville team has dealt with in 2015, building confidence and positivity through victories is certainly not a bad thing and may prove to be beneficial.
  11. Livingston Central, Crittenden and Lyon all said they weren't playing during scheduling meeting during the spring. That leaves UHA, Caldwell and Dawson Springs (at least for the boys) in January, as of this moment.
  12. 2nd Region Tournament hosts 2015-16: Hopkins County Central 2016-17: Hopkinsville 2017-18: Henderson County 2018-19: Hopkinsville 2019-20: Madisonville-North Hopkins
