  1. This is no disrespect to Holmes. They have a very fine team. However, there is much more to basketball than Sports Center dunks. My only point was that EC does a lot of little things (i.e. fundamentals) very well.
  2. The polls are simply subjective opinions; nothing more, nothing less. All that matters when discussing who is number one is whether the team has a reasonable chance of winning the state. The answer for Elliott Co is a resounding yes (as it is for several other teams). That being said, Elliott would get my vote for number one, particularly on the basis of knowing how to play the game and being fun to watch. However, I am sure the fans of several other teams could make a strong case for their team being voted number one.
  3. Random thoughts: 1. Elliott, as stated earlier, is the most entertaining team in the state to watch. 2. Regarding meeting an equally athletic team with more size in the state tournament last year, they basically won 31 minutes of the game. Just a weird finish prevented them from the W. 3. I wonder how many comments about running up the score, etc. were made in years past when Boyd/Ashland, etc blew out Elliott (yes, what goes around does indeed come around). 4. Good thing Elliott isn't a private school.
  4. For anyone to say they can't compete at Rupp in March, I would submit last years's Mason Co game as evidence to the contrary.
  5. Elliott will not lose to another eastern Ky team.
