  1. Here is one post I made. 5-11-07 "The next coach is going to have a mess on his hands. His first team will be the most inexperienced team in the state if he chooses to only play a few players both ways. 1) We graduated some good players. If the coach does not play many players both ways that would almost double the players we graduated because he will be replacing two positions for almost every player we lost. 2) If we have numbers around 60+, that will be an additional 20 or 30 guys without varsity experience."
  2. I am not in the bag for any coach, but Wood, that was a great call. I want a coach who would do that. Our top back was cramping, and that play was a touchdown if the QB makes the play. Just a split second longer and it would have been 6. You have to look at the context. They started passing on us, and then a couple of secondary guys started cramping, and without RT in the game to run the ball our offense was not as good. I thought if North got the ball back they would score too. I like a coach with balls, and that will rub off on his players. Like you I thought North way way down. I think I will wait for next year to look at our coach, and if you recall I said before we even hired the coach that it would be a long road to build a large team in a system that was geared for 13 to 15 players.
  3. I would not put us at fully back, but with as many players as we play, in a year or two we will be right there(just not sure). North is not as good as last year, and we are much better. This change in style and especially going from a program that played so few to a program that plays tons of players will not be done overnight. We are a bit better than I thought we would be at this point in the process. If we can win more, it will help bring out a few of those studs walking the hall. Great job team/coach. The game came down to the final 8 plays for North with around 1:24 left in the game. North as the game went on had found its passing attack, and was posed to score around the 20 yardline. They completed a 4th and 10 play to just get the first down around the ten(all very close plays), and after three plays, the teams found themselves again with a 4th down, 4th and goal this time around the 8. The final pass was knocked down in the endzone. Of those final eight plays, there were I think 5 plays that could have been caught if the balls had not been knocked down. We were inches away from losing with some key players cramping up, yet play after play our boys made the plays and many of them were in the endzone.
  4. They have coached up players before, but the players they are getting now seem to be better athletes. Back when we got Little and company and later classes, I notices we were getting players offered by teams that made bowl games. I do not follow recruiting, but it does seem not all 2 and 3 star players are the same. Also, I think I read uk has lots of returning players, so the roster might be pretty full.
  5. Good report. We were just looking at it from different points of view, a postup Patterson type 4 verses a 3-4 type deal that you see with many teams today where the 4man plays like a second 3 position with some 4 duties. That kind of guy usually is long. His length is what I like.
  6. Sure he is not a Patterson 4, but then again basketball has changed the last 15 year where you have 3s that often play the 4 spot. If there was every a player that fits that mode, it is him. He has been recruited for the 4 spot with some teams, most he dropped off his list. How would you rank his dribbling and shooting verses his rebounding and shot blocking?
  7. Singleton is being recruited at the 4 spot by many teams. Watch some video of him, and you will see why.
  8. UK backed off of Jennings a while ago. Singleton may be more of a college 4 man although he might want to play the 3, so he might go somewhere he can play right away at the 3 (FSU). Hamga still has to get a NCAA ruling and get away from UNLV. Sampson is not a guy who will come in right away and get it done.
  9. As someone who follows this stuff, you are looking more desperate than anyone. Do you realize how out of the loop you are with this stuff. Have you not been following his recruiting style? Billy seems to go after lots of guys, and then decides later if it is a good fit. If a coach shows him the door, he tries to find another way. Everything is on the table with him. He works on plan A-Z. The opposite of Tubby.
  10. Win the next two and we will be pushing the top ten. SC will be a hard one though. If we win those, LSU will....
  11. Their o-line and d-line will be better. Their defense will be better. WR is my worry. It will be a three way race for QB between Pulley, Hartline, and Lentz. I do not think QB will be an issue. UK has been building toward this for a while.
  12. The only interesting thing for me about this game is 6 people actually voted in this poll for the Cols to win meanwhile fans on both sides are writing about food. The only thing to remember while in Henderson is not to drink the water. Manual: 56 Henderson Co. 6 Score if the Manual football team drinks the water: Manual 35 Henderson Co. 28 Score if Manual drinks the water and Henderson does not: Henderson Co. 49 Manual 7 See, its the water!
  13. No, UK ran it down their throat in the second half. I am not sure if UK has shown anything or if they like to keep it simple hiding their pass protection issues. I would expect UKs defense to send more people after the QB though. They have been using their front 4 for pressure the last two games.
