  1. You bet the better team won. Without question. My schedule point was this, outside of HH, who had this team beaten? IMO, Ryle's scheduling of HH twice does not make sense at all. Sometimes, I think ego gets in the way in Union.

I couldn't agree more with the ego. :thumb:

  2. I agree...that was some of the worst tackling at this level of football that I have ever seen. This lack of tackling was the major reason Ryle got pounded.

I thought play calling killed Ryle in the first half. It got better in the second half. Second half score Ryle. 29 - S.K. 27.

  3. Really surprised to hear this from you Clyde. What do you base your stunned status on? I mean, take a look at it closely. What had Ryle done to make you respect them? Who had they beaten?

The better team won. But the facts are as of yesterday Ryles strength of schedule is a 22.9 and S.K. 18.8. From here on out Ryles number will go up and S.K.s down. Ryle is playing Highlands twice this year becouse some other NKY teams would not play them. So if S.K. wanted to, they could have proven it on the field. We will never know. Just a couple facts.

  4. The best team won. S.K. vs. Highlands would have been a GREAT game. Simpson looks like he is 100% for the first time this year. I thought the Ryle coaches made it easy for the S.K. D. With 8 in the box and the backer shooting the gap they still tried running up the middle in the 1st half. When they changed play calling in the second half the score was even. This makes the Ryle vs Conner next week huge. Good luck S.K. Maybe this will be the year someone from NKY in 6A can win it all.

  5. True that. Sometimes people think high school coaches are dealing with NFL players with exceptional abilities and able to get up for any event. Having some experience with coaching, kids' moods will change for the craziest things. For example, if there is an assembly during last period, you could bet the kids take a while to get their head on straight. They are more hyper and just not focused. They are, well, kids.

True, I also have coached kids in one sport or another since the mid-70's. A coach needs to know his or her players. Some need a kick in the butt and some need a hug. Thats part of coaching, much like being a parent. In my years of coaching high school football I think there are way to many coaches who think they are in the NFL. Like you said these are kids ages 14 - 18 it should be FUN. Many of the coaches think its about them. It should be about the kids. IMO thats why some schools are at the top year in and year out.

  6. Wow Highlands would beat Trinity by 40 points, and St. X probably by 20.

I do like 7 out of the 25 teams being from Northern KY though.

So then do you think Ryle should be #3 or #4? Highlands didn't beat Ryle by 40. (Maybe next time) Also Henry Clay way tooooooo low. Wasn't it just a couple weeks ago they went into S.K. And beat them soundly?? :idunno:

  7. I hope you're joking.

Yes I;m joking. It for the S.K. people who think S.K. is 6 T.D.s better than Ryle. I have seen these two teams play more this year than any other teams. They are about as even as you can get. Thats why I think it will come down to turnovers. And if by some chance S.K. were up by 6 T.D.s they would not put in the JV. Just ask Conner. :thumb:

  8. Just want to ask a question? Why is it everytime someone post a thread on Ryle's freshman team score, that everyone goes off in a different direction with it. Sure we can debate Cooper's situation all day long, but keep in mind that we should be discussing Ryle's victory instead of always bring Cooper up in this thread. Please compliment Ryle's effort on the field and there players because they have earned it. Start another thread if you want to debate other issues not regarding Ryle's games.

I say enjoy it Ryle fans. When your on top people will take shots at you. Stay focused for the next month and get the job done! :ylsuper:
