  1. Can you be more specific? I'd be curious to know the list of these players also. And if they're playing for another school, my guess is that is had to do with re-districting, not an intentional move out of Ryle's district simply to play for another school (especially since that is not a valid exception to the residency rule anyways).

I'm not sure how to send a p. m. I don't think giving out these kids names over a thread would be right. So if you p m me I think I should be able to respond.

  2. One of the reasons that I love football is because of the gladiator mentality involved in the sport, the struggle. Adversity from injury, adversity from size, adversity from the conditions. Baseball games are rained out, basketball is played inside, but football is outside, in the heat, the cold, the rain, and the snow.

Why are games being postponed? Football is played in the rain, in the wind, in the snow, and in the heat.

    What's going on?

Maybe they are saving the fields for soccer.

  3. I loved playing for Coach Woolf, and I grew up w/ Coach Hardin. I find them to be very stand up guys. I still talk to coach Woolf from time to time. Both of them are enthusiastic, and are 100% about the kids. You have to give maximum effort or you will hear about it. It is like that for any successful coach.

From what I hear he would be a GREAT head coach. :thumb:

  4. Actually Highlands wanted to schedule Trinity for the last game of the season which is now the second Ryle game. Trinity did not want to play the last game of the regular season and neither team had an open date earlier.

They are trying to play each other.

Keep us posted so we can get in line for our tickets. Better yet, I'm starting to like the games on T.V. when its raining. And this game would be on T.V. :thumb:

  5. I just don't see the teaching value in an up down? Other than a great way to punish a 15 - 17 yr old kid or cause a shoulder injury, which has taken place more than once @ Ryle. I hope that the coaches can find a better way to address the shortcommings that took place last night. I never suggested blame but a true leader is shoulder to shoulder with their troops. You win and lose as a team, which includes coaches. You can't teach anything when your angery.

Could this also be a reason why many of Ryles good players have quit over the years or are going to other schools???

  6. Then again, when these two do eventually play each other the pre-game hype will really be something, since THS and HHS play each other so infrequently (the last game was back in 2000, and the two programs have only played twice, with each program winning one game).

Actually, I think it's neat that they don't play so often, since it allows so much end-of-the-year debate about who's number one... things get boring when it's so clear-cut!!!!!!!

Or someone dosn't have to face the fact that the other team is the best.

Amen! Amen! Amen! Everything you have said is 100% on the money! :notworthy:

Even though you point out the 29 - 27 second half score, this game was never close. This was the first time I saw Miles play. What a stud!. He can do it all Speed, Strength, Agility, and football savvy. Collinsworth is a great back and is on the same level but IMO doesn't have the strength this kid has. WOW!

I don't understand why these coaches never put in the second teams. Game was 42 to 7 and both sides had their first teams in? SK did seem to be trying to sub to a degree. Simpson was caring the ball up 3 TD with 2 minutes in the game. A lot of kids on the sidelines would have liked to get on TV. This game was never in doubt. If a small school had left their players in a game like this every BGP member would have been on this morning screaming about poor sportsmanship.

From what I saw in the S.k. vs Conner game, S.K. could have been up by 50 and the 2ed team would not have played. :idunno:

  9. Yet Trinity can play three teams from Ohio? Everyone from both sides says Highlands and Trinity are always trying to get a game with each other, but I don't ever see it actually happening.

This way if they both win state they can both say "we are the greatest".Way too many years have gone by for these two teams not to play each other.

  10. SK dominated Ryle at the line of scrimmage on offense and defense. Also, I know that Coach Woolf will be furious this week at Ryle diving instead of driving through and tackling. I was on the end of a tirade at NewCath and we did about 200 up-downs. Heaven help Ryle's defensive starters come their next practice.

Just think how many up-downs you will be doing if the coaches finds out you are on this web site.
