  1. We're open over here this week. I don't know what I am going to do with the week off and thought I would see what some of the rest of you do when the home team is not playing. Do you go to other games, watch tv, what????

Last week up here in NKY the Highlands vs X and the Simon Kenton vs Conner game were both on T.V. That and the fact it was rainning. With hot pizza and a cold six pack it was a no brainer. I guess it just depends on your options? :p

  2. As far as records for the "Big School" Division this is what I can gather:

Ryle 4-0 beating Cov Cath, Highlands, Connor and Simon Kenton

Highlands 2-2 with wins over Cov Cath and Boone and losses to St. X and Ryle (rain out against Campbell)

Cov Cath 2-2 with wins over Campbell and Connor and losses to Ryle and Highlands

Simon Kenton 3-1 with wins over Campell, Dixie and Boone and a loss to Ryle

Dixie has 2 losses to Simon and Boone not sure about their other games

Boone lost to Highlands and maybe Connor but not sure on the others

Connor possibly a win against Boone and losses to Ryle and Cov Cath

Campbell is without a victory as far as I can tell.

That is what I gather from extensive reaserch on BGP!

    Love NKY frosh football!

Thank You. I agree Freshmen football in NKY is GREAT!!! :dancingpa

  3. Sorry for rehashing this for those who have read it in other threads, but when you ask for standings be aware there are two separate freshman leagues this year - small school league includes the 2A schools plus Beechwood, Holmes, Scott and Cooper; big schools league includes the remaining 5A and 6A schools.

On the small school side it is a three team race between Cooper, Beechwood and NewCath. Cooper is undefeated with a win over NCC; NCC has that one loss and has defeated Beechwood; Beechwood has that one loss and will play Cooper in the last regular season game.

Someone else will have to fill in the details on the big school side. Don't quote me on these but I believe Highlands is undefeated with an overtime win over CovCath and I believe I read that Dixie's frosh are struggling a little with maybe only one win so far.

Thanks, I understand the big school, small school. I was just wanting records of both. I'm sure someone will fill in. I think it is great that the Freshmen have so many fans here in NKY. :ylsuper:

  4. Saw him in a ankle brace today, what does this mean for Cooper football? Will backup RB Jon Suthoff be able to take one the leading rusher of NKY's place? And what I'm most curious about do you think Cooper can win another game? The remaining schedule, correct me if I'm wrong: Simon Kenton, Boone County, Campbell County, Conner, Newport

Most of Coopers offensive onslaught prior to the Ryle game was ground based so I really don't know what to think :isurrender:

I am not sure about winning another game. Maybe Newport. As far as Jon Suthoff. Great young man. He will give you all he's got. But keep in mind he is stepping in for one of the best running backs in NKY. But their is no one who will give their all like Jon. :thumb:

  5. Due to a scheduling mix up with Fox Sports, this game is being played on Friday night at Conner. Originally, it was to be played on Thursday night and be on TV for the high school game of week. Fox sports double scheduled games.

Thanks for the info. And I am not saying Boones running game is better than S.Ks. But for people saying stopping Boones running game is easy. Thats Nuts!

  6. Comparing Boone's running game to SK's is apples and oranges. Simpson is a special athlete that does not come around very often. Reminds me of Shaun Alexander a little..........I think any team would/will have trouble stopping SK's run game.

I may be wrong but I though last year Boone's running back was ahead of Simpson in the all state team.
