I would agree with you if GRC had the same head football coach from the previous season but not when a new head football coach arrives for his initial season.

I have asked questions that the community has about our new coach. I have also passed along information that other community members have gathered about our new coach. What rule of BGP did I break by doing that???

Back to football. MNCM, you were quoted as saying that there is no way that GRC would have a winning football season in 2014. How does that support Riddle in his first year as head coach at GRC?

Just so that I have it. You still haven't answered the question about your lack of support for Riddle winning games this season.

These sources have the same questions that I do. Fans can support the players while having questions about their coach, especially a new coach. I have supported every GRC coach as well. I support Riddle. Here are posts 18 and 20 from this thread. You responded to TheSodFather. Are you supporting Riddle by believing that he will not have a winning season in his initial campaign?

I am just the messenger. My sources are very close to the program. I stated previously that we would not know until August when full pads start that Riddle could better evaluate his players. This is about the kids. It always has been. I hope for their sake that everything is properly implemented prior to August 23. One final comment. My comments have been very respectful towards the program as well as individual posters on this board. Continuing to attack me with your comments will not help the football program. The questions that I ask can be multiplied 100 times by others in the community. The community asks for more information about the assistant coaches, preseason and regular season schedules, and probable starters over the next 2 to 3 weeks.

I wish great success for Riddle. Might I remind you that you are the one who predicted very few wins for Riddle's team while I predicted a winning season and a district championship. It was also your comment that stated that tbe team has always had 2 scrimmages each year. Apparently, you have not followed GRC football as closely as what you believe that you do. It is quite apparent that you are becoming quite emotional by your comments. If I have offended you in some way, then I apologize.

I keep thinking of Romeo Crennel. He was an assistant coach or defensive coordinator in college and the NFL for 30 years before he became a head coach with Cleveland. It takes a certain level of expertise to have been an assistant for so long while making a successful transition to head coach. I wish Riddle great success at GRC. I hope he knows what he is doing for the sake of our boys.

It is my understanding that the pace on the field is questionable as well. This is Riddle's first job as a head coach. My sources tell me that he is going to be hard pressed to have all 3 aspects of the team ready by August 23rd.

As a community we care about our boys. We understand the write-ups about Riddle's background with UK and connection to Bill Curry at UK and Georgia State. It is time to tell us about the football program. Who are the assistant coaches and what are their backgrounds? What is the football schedule prior to the game with Rowan County on August 23? Will there be a football camp or a scrimmage game? If so, when and where will they be? Sometime in August, Riddle could talk about the boys after he has had time to evaluate the talent in full pads.

I think he knows the rules behind the doors at the KHSAA office. There will be little if any punishment from the KHSAA for this.

For the three practice days in shoulder pads and helmets, there can be no contact with other players, only with sleds and dummies. Clear proof that a coach is watching contact take place on Tuesday, July 22.

Reminder about Changes in Football Preseason Practice Rules | Kentucky High School Athletic Association Preseason and during season practice in football shall be as follows: The first legal organized practice wearing a helmet only shall be no earlier than July 22. Voluntary activity may be conducted between July 10 and July 21, and may include no football gear other than the helmet. The first three (3) days of organized practice shall be in helmets only and the next three (3) days shall be in helmets and shoulder pads for acclimatization and acclimation. For the three practice days in shoulder pads and helmets, there can be no contact with other players, only with sleds and dummies. Provided such activity is conducted and supervised by coaches meeting all qualifications of Bylaw 25, these practice sessions shall be covered by KHSAA Catastrophic insurance; The remainder of the gear specified in NFHS Rule 1-5 can be issued and practice in pads can begin no earlier than August 1 or the week day following the completion of the required three (3) days of practice in helmets and shoulder pads if such date is after August 1. This is for all schools regardless of when school begins. Any practice period on or after August 1 where any equipment other than the helmet and shoulder pads are worn shall be referred to as contact practice, and shall adhere to the following restrictions: After contact practice has begun (any practice where more than a helmet and shoulder pads are worn), a non-contact simulation (7 on 7) may not be held; After contact practice has begun and prior to the first day of classes for the students, a school shall not conduct multiple on-field practice sessions in pads (e.g., two-a-days or three-a-days) on consecutive days (e.g., two-one-two-one format) After each contact practice, there shall be a three-hour break. During this break, there can be no gear worn, and no activity that in any way simulates football or football drills. This restriction is in place regardless of where the practice occurs including camps, home practices, or other workout areas. This period is solely for rest/recovery The total practice time on any day where two contact practices are conducted shall not exceed five (5) hours, with no single contact practice exceeding three (3) hours. The total practice time on any day where only one contact practice is conducted shall not exceed three (3) hours. Meetings, film study, water breaks, rest breaks and injury treatment shall not count against the five hour limits. Weight training, voluntary conditioning and teaching period/walk through simulations without equipment shall not count against the five hour limit provided the three-hour break required for cool down is conducted prior to the additional activity following the contact practice After the opening day of the school year, a school shall not conduct multiple on-field practice sessions in pads (e.g., two-a-days or three-a-days) regardless of the school schedule. All schools shall upon request, submit any required documentation to verify the proper execution of the practice regulations, including scrimmage, contact, and Heat/Humidity Measurement and Compliance Programs. At this point in time, there are not specific limitations regarding minutes or hours of contact practice per week, but those types of restrictions remain under rules. Coaches are reminded that it is critical to adhere to all guidelines for practice to help minimize risk for the student athletes. Further information regarding revised regulations for offseason work following the 2014 season is being finalized and will be distributed upon completion.
