  1. Does not mean it is the right thing to do. I am sure if I were the Coach I would do the same thing, but in a perfect world a coach would win a agame with his coaching of his team and their own preperation, not from taking the "easy" way out.
  2. Beechwood has dominated this game thusfar... that two TD deficit could be critical. Had Hazard held on and kept it 7-0 then anythign could happen...but thusfar they have been hanging on by a thread against a simply better team.
  3. Just playing Devil's advocate here, but maybe Hazard doesn't have the coachign resources Beechwood does. Maybe Beechwood has been watching film after film of Hazard's coaches and translating their signals.
  4. There is a huge difference in something that is legally right and something morally right.
  5. I agree... nothing illegal, but very poor sportsmanship...this will make for a good discussion.
  6. Both teams trade posessions, still 7-0. Teipel fumbles punt return,Hazard recovers at 43.
  7. I know it's early, but if Beechwood marches it down and scores on the next posession this game could already be over.
  8. Having all three back enxt year would make a monumental difference but I don't see it happening: Lindley- GONE Jarmon- PROBABLY Johnson- DOUBTFUL
  9. Central probably has the strength edge as well 3wishes...they are FAR from a finesse team like most speed oriented teams.
  10. Deuce did you go to Memphis when UL last played? If so what are some things and places I definately need to take in?
  11. Yeah... I wouldn't check in until after the game
  12. I am at a dillemma and want your all's input on what you would do: In terms of Hotels; - Bite the bullett and pay $180+ for a hotel close to Beale Street - Pay a very affordable $60-70 for a hotel in Germantown or East Memphis that is not too far from the Stadium, but rediculously far from Beale. - Pay $60-80 for a very nice room at one of the Casino's in Tunica, MS,which is 50 minutes from Memphis, but would have night life on site
  13. One general question I have for this format. Are teams who do not qualify for a bowl allowed any extra practice during this time or are they out of luck? Also, does each game of the playoffs have the same payout as a standard bowl game? The reason I ask is because with the above mentioned system, certain teams will basically have the equivolant of an extra Spring practice compared to teams who do not qualify. I am not saying whether I disagree or not, but this could most definately in the rich getting richer (Much more practice, easier transition for Seniors who will be replaced, exponentially higher national exposure, and exponentially increased cash flow) If people think that there is a monopoly already in place on who dominates conferences year in and year out... just imagine what this could potentially do.
  14. Breathitt needs to do the following as well as they can: 1. Eat the clock...limit posessions and don't get in a track meet (literally) 2. Don't beat yourself... just like last week's game, when Belfry played Central last year they crippled themselves with turnovers and didn't take advantage of Central's mistakes.. Breathitt can't do this as well. 3. Don't give up any fast breaks... Central's athletic ability and defensive superstars can not only make plays on defense, but they can score on defense. Breathitt has got to avoid these sudden change points as much as possible because not only can it swing a drive, it could cause a 14 point swing on the scoreboard and take the momentum. 4. Keep everything in front of them... Central and Breathitt are very comparable in their offensive strategy in term sof passig. Both teams look for the homerun ball. Breathitt has to froce Central to drive the ball. 5. Don't Underestimate Scorggins... he outcoached Haywood last year (which says alot) and made some HUGE adjustments. If Breathitt goes to the well too often they will pay for it. I was very impressed witht he way Scroggins coached last year.
  15. Defensively- YES! Returning all their studs from last year and another year of growth and devlopment from Patterson (who is being courted by some major programs and will be far and away the top D-1 prospect in the state next season).. they have one of the finer units in the state. Offensively- Debatable... Central has revamped their offensive style to cater to their strengths. Last Year they ran alot of single back and strong sets with the QB under center. Taylor and Wadlington were very good in the backfield and the strength of that team. They laso had Leland Banks last year who was definately more of a drop back passer than a true option QB. After loosing those pieces they now have King who is an exceptional runner at QB but not nearly as good of a passer, thus the switch to the read option.
