  1. Should have got one of those rebounds. Might we have a chance to see a last second game winner?
  2. Can't leave that guy open like that.
  3. I agree that it does seem like Drake is getting some of the calls this game.
  4. Drake should have gotten freethrows there instead of the ball right? They were in the double bonus. Is there something im missing here?
  5. WKU is gonna have to withstand one last push by Drake. Hopefully they can do it.
  6. Thats a question that I am not able to answer. I'm not on the ground in Chicago, or any where but central Ky for that matter, so I can't tell what type of affect he has on the community. If he is inspiring the Black community in his area to take pride in and love themselves then yes, what he's saying is helping the cause. If not then no. I would not have made the comments, but I am not Mr. Wright and I haven't lived through the things that he has lived through, having been born in 1986, and not having lived through the worst of times as far as racial tensions go.
  7. WKU is looking great right now. I'm a lifetime UK fan, but this WKU would have beat UK this year. IMO. For what it's worth.
  8. I think that what he is trying to do is arouse a passion in the Black community so that they will stand up, take action, and take pride in the fact that they are who they are, which I think will be the first step in solving alot of the problems in the Black community. "Black Pride" is a good thing because of the generations of self-hate that were engrained into the Black community. The self-hate is the reason, I feel, for alot of the problems that we see. The Black community needs to LEARN to love its self, then to appreciate themselves as a productive member of American society. Wright was abrasive in the way he delivered his message. But I think he has noble intentions at the core. His message has just been corrupted a bit in it's delivery.
  9. I agree that both Wright and Cosby are correct. I agree with Cosby in that Black people should not blame anyone for the problems that they face and take it upon themselves to advance their lot in life. I agree with Wright in that yes historically Black people have been discriminated against, demeaned, and treated like scum, by our government(Yes is was the U.S. Govt), and that alot of people do not like to aknowledge it. I think that Wright could have expressed his feelings in a much better way, but I think that what he wanted to get across and what alot of people are assuming he meant, or pulling out of his words, are two very different things.
  10. Tenn really isn't looking that good. The SEC hasn't been fairing too well this tourny, which was expected I guess.
  11. WKU is up 47-38 at the half. Went on a little run to close the half out.
  12. That's why I asked the question I did in my previous post. If it is true that there will always be a group that is underprivileged, wouldn't it make sense for the group in power to keep the underpriviliged groups from rising up and potentially replacing them at the top. It is historically accurate to say that traditionally Anglo-protestant males have been the group the runs America. While alot of change has come in the past 30 years or so, there is still resitance. If minorities, and women rise up and assert themselves then someone, theoretically, must replace them as the underpriveledged segments of society. Could it be that the segments of society that hold all of the power are afraid that they will lose power if women and minorities, as a group, gain too much power? That could be the case, i'm still trying to figure it out. Like i've said before though, I think that in order to do away with all of the racial tension that exists today is to adequatley educate ALL children in order to get rid of the prejudices and mindsets that have been passed down through the generations.
  13. This is my first time seeing Western play this year and they are playing really well. They are an easy team root for.
  14. WKU is impressing me so far. Courtney Lee is the real deal.
  15. Just posing a question here. If that is what you beleive to be the case, then wouldn't it make sense for the historically more priviledged groups to prevent the historically under-priviledged groups from advancing and possibly replacing them at the top?
  16. I became a Belmont fan for a short time yesterday.
  17. 14-2 for me. I missed on UK and UGA.
  18. I'm sorry, that looks like social commentary to me. Not racism.
  19. They sure are. This game might get out of hand if it keeps going like it is.
  20. This UK game is starting to get pretty frustrating. It's starting to look like were just not quite good enough to keep up. I hope i'm wrong.
  21. I had a dream last night the UK won by about 10. I'm gonna go with that.
  22. Good post. It's sad to me that it has come to this, people finding anything that they can to degrade the man. It really makes me beleive, from what i've seen with my own two eyes, that some people are just afraid, deep down, of a "non-white" man who has the oppurtunity to come to a position of real power. If you listned to the mans speech it was about coming together as a country and putting aside our differences, be them racial or whatever. Sadly I don't think the country is ready for that and IF he gets the nomination it will only get worse. There is still somewhat of a racial divide in this country, whether you want to beleive it or not, and Obama will either be the one who unites the country, or the one who polarizes the country. The way things are looking, it will be the latter, and it dissapoints me.
