I don't think there are several teams capable of beating Corbin, but there are two or three on a given night capable of winning over them.
-
Playing at MC will be tough for the Hounds, they have been on a roll, but they may be in trouble in this game. MC 70 Corbin 65 in a barnburner.
-
Once you get the first (no matter how bad the call was) a coach would have to understand he is treading on thin ice. Who took over the coaching duties after he was gone?
-
Bell could be a spoiler for someone in the region, they have several good athletes who can get after it. M'boro other than the one big strong kid (Green maybe) has a long, long way to go.

If you want recognition then you have to play a schedule that earns it. For ex. Male twice, Trinity, Seneca, Eastern, Scott Co., Lex Cath, Mason Co., Lafayette, and Ballard. I left a couple out. No matter the outcomes you will garner attention because these are some of the best programs in the state. By the way Clark County has all of these teams on their schedule. I fully believe if Corbin would put half of the teams on this list on the schedule and do well against them, win or lose, they would get more recognition.
I agree somewhat, 3 or 4 of those type teams on their schedule would have been good for Corbin to really gauge how good they are. On the other hand they just have to beat teams like they have played this year (for the most part) to get out of the 13th and on to Rupp. IMO the 13th is as weak as its been in a long time and the hounds should roll.
-
Has he been tossed before? He sure goes after the officals in games I have saw. Must have went after the wrong one tonight.
-
I would guess anything less than a 20 plus point win at home for Corbin would be a positive for LC. Corbin has rolled over most of the teams in the 13th can't see LC being any different. Corbin has a real tough game the next night at MCcreary so they may take it fairly easy on the Cats. Corbin 78 LC 51.
-
Any time you beat a team by 40 points is a good win within itself IMO.
Agree any win is a good win, but IMO Corbin should beat Pineville this year by 30 or 40 so not impressive just a good team over a poor one.
-
To score 80 on a Pineville team that likes to slow the ball down is impressive.
Not really Pineville, though very well coached is not a good team at all, they have a few really young players who may be good in the next couple of years just not now.

If Corbin's Big Three have big games, then they'll win.
That would be the case in 99% of the games they play, I'm sure South has a plan for both Johnson and Wilson if their players carry it out South could pull an upset here. If not Corbin by 8 to 10.
-
No, but it couldn't be as bad as Carter's or Alleyne's.
And you personally could throw it down on either one? :idunno:

I like that idea. I seem to remember Mike Golic saying it once on their morning show...
Basically, the first team to 6 wins the game. That way, you can't win the toss, gain 40 yards and win a game on a FG.
But, for me personally, it almost seems like the fairness of the OT varies from game to game. For example, I don't have a problem with last night's game because Minnesota blew their chance to win the game at the end of regulation with the penalty and then Faver's interception. So even though they didn't get a chance in OT, they have only themselves to blame for the game even getting to that point.
All those fumbles were huge as well, the one just before halftime was a killer. As for the OT I feel both teams should get a chance to play offense, I agree a flip of a coin should not determine which team would have the best chance to go to the Super Bowl after playing four peroids to a tie.

If it comes down to the D like you say the Hounds will roll, I expect KC to be really up for this game and maybe play one of their better games of the year. Corbin should win by 15 or more but you never know what can happen in a rival game like this one. The difference will probley be the play of I. Wilson in the 4th, Corbin will sure miss him when he is gone next year!

B'ville 78 LC 73
P'ville 51 W'burg46
B'ville 62 P'ville 57
But this could actually flip-flop and not suprise me. I think LC would beat W'burg in the final if it did though.

It will be a great game on Thursday. I think that it will be a lot closer this time around.
I agree it should be much closer this time, but can LC make up the 26 point difference from their last game? The team that shoots the ball best in this game wins and LC must play a lot better defense as well.
-
This game went about the way one would expect, OBI is not very good. Should be a good game vs B'ville on Thursday. A lot a stake for both teams in this one, don't think the Tigers can roll over Cats this time.
-
Manns not being there could be a big problem for Corbin, and as someone said Whitley will really be up for this game, but I still see the Hounds winning in a barnburner, 65 to 61 with Wilson getting about 10 pts in the last 3 minutes.
-
Nice win for LC, I believe they should be the favorite for the All A even though B'ville smoked them last week, if LC is hitting from the outside it will be hard for the teams in their bracket to beat them. Could B'ville and LC play in the finals?
-
Well I said in the Lynn Camp - B'ville thread it wouldn't suprise me to see KC beat the Tigers in this one, so I guess I'm not surprised. Does this set up a rematch between LC and KC in the district? If so should be a fun game.
-
Sounds like a good bounce back win for LC. I thought this game was on the schedule for Tuesday night.
-
I had Barbourville winning this one by 15-20. Phipps always gets more from the talent he has than any other coach.
Wow if thats the case you need to go to Vegas while your hot:scared: after the way the KC game went I felt Lynn Camp had to be the favorite over B'ville. Looks like LC's defense is still a work in progess.
-
Does this mean Barbourville beats Knox Central by 46 when they play? The way this district is going it wouldn't suprise me to see KC win. After watching LC take apart KC and reading your very nice article on LC, Les, I really thought LC would would beat the Tigers in a game much like the KC one, not get took down hard. Year in and year out Dinky Phipps gets more out of less talent than the majority of coaches in the state. Will Bville move into the top ten now?
-
I have been told that Knox Central has too many kids who want to be scorers and not enough who want to be role players, i.e. play defense, rebound and pass.
Other than Miller and the big kid who is a freshman, KC is a really small team, rebounding for them would be a problem, it didn't look to me like they were a very good shooting team at all (Miller included). Looks like a team of role players to me, maybe they don't feel that way.
-
A very big district win for Lynn Camp, although the margin of victory shocks me. What is going on at Knox Central?
From where I was sitting it didn't look like one or two of Central's best players even wanted to be there, LC was the better team for sure, they were bigger, faster, and sure wanted the game alot more. It didn't hurt that Mobley for LC was on fire in the first half, I think he had 4 or 5 3's in the first half all of them wide open, I don't remember KC hitting one the entire game and they struggled at the free throw line as well. To me Mobley and Wagner for LC were the best two players on the floor for either team. This district seems to be wide open.
