I had a pretty good angle and it looked like he planted to throw and the ankle just rolled under on him with nobody even close to him. I've seen that before with players with the bad ankles. Once you do it, the odds of it happening again goes way up that it happens again and again. Really too bad, I hope he is ok soon.

The senior Birds are on a mission. With a championship victory, they will finish their careers, 54 - 1, counting their 10-0 freshmen campaign. 44 - 1 without a loss to a Kentucky school in their varsity years. Maybe the best class ever? One more victory and maybe they make that claim.

I was thinking the same thing...How cool would that be? Obviously they make it, why not use it?

I haven't seen anyone mention that PC will be scared...What everyone seems to be saying is that they are in for a very unusual atmosphere. The bleachers are almost on the field (and rubbing up against the backs of the visiting players) and the Highlands sideline has a three story wall behind it. The players have to stand behind the broken line and the bleachers. The fans walk between them and the stands.

Highlands found itself in unfamiliar territory late Friday night. Johnson Central had countered the 14 points scored by the Bluebirds in the first six minutes of the Class 5A regional championship game in Fort Thomas with a methodical, clock-grinding 14 points of its own to forge a tie with just over three minutes left in the first half. The Bluebirds answered that adversity with 28 points in a span of 13 minutes and advanced to next week’s state semifinal with a 42-21 victory against the Golden Eagles. Highlands, ranked No. 8 in the USA Today national poll and now 13-0, will host either Pulaski County or Letcher County Central next Friday with a trip to Bowling Green for the state championship game on the line.
