  1. Issue is that JCPS cancelled athletic activities for the weekend. Louisville is expecting an additional 2-4 inches this evening. I, too, hate that the LIT is cancelled as now I have no basketball games to attend. Was looking forward to see Becca Greenwell, Madison Central, Glasgow, and Walton Verona ...
  2. I am sure they will be ready for SHA tomorrow.Nicole does a fine job
  3. SHA just basically took NCC out of anything they wanted to do offensively..you can make comments about easy missed shots, etc but SHA trademark is its defense. No ne in KY plays defense like Heart. They flat get after you. In their loss they played without 3 starters and they were still adjusting to a scheme without Merriweather. Forget any rankings you see. They are one of the state's best
  4. Regardless, if the Breds want to return to the State tournament, then the SHA game was a good 'test' since quarterfinals / semis / finals are separated by less than 24 hours.
  5. Can't say reload because Raven provided a lot of untangibles for this team, especially in the Nike tournament of Champions wins. I'd say its others picking up some of the scoring and more defensive intensity due to the lack of additional offense. In tonight's win, SHA was able to outrebound and push the tempo to score. They shot 60% for the game, which were mainly layups in transition and held Kierman to 4 pts.
  6. SHA, without start junior Raven Merriweather, goes into Newport and puts on a show in a 22 point win. Daijia Ruffin led all scorers with 24 pts, 13 rebs, and 5 assists.
  7. What a game! SHA jumped out to a 22-6 1st quarter, then held on for the win vs. Ballard. Ballard was led by 6'4" Tierra Banks with 28 pts and 16 rebs.. and Javonna Layfield with 12 pts and 10 rebs. SHA's dynamic duo of Daijia Ruffin (21 pts, 7 rebs) and Raven Merriweather (16 pts, 5 rebs) paced the Valkyries. Ballard is for real as they outrebounded Sacred Heart 46-17... Key to the games was PG Ashley Johnson's defense forcing 10 TOs by Ballard PGs and gaining 7 steals. Overall true, gritty team effort by SHA... Onto to Phoenix:p
  8. In the SHA game, there was too much speed for Highlands to establish any press/trap. IMO, they were caught 'off guard' by the speed and athleticism by the 5 guards for SHA. Adjustments were made at the half to cut the deficit; however, speed played a factor in deterring Highlands to press. It 'appeared' to wear them down.
  9. Would like to have been a fly on the wall in the locker room at SHA, whatever Coach Richey said woke up the Bluebirds and they played their hearts out the 2nd half. Would not like to play them regional tournament time.
  10. Can you be Ms Ky Basketball and live in Indiana?
  11. Last chance to watch one of the best girls runners ever to come out of the state Emma Brink- she is special!
  12. What is the maximum enrollment you can have to qualify for the All A tournament in grades 9-12?
  13. It is good to know that the Assumption coach chewed the players out during the timeout AND apologized for the behavior to Coach Moir. Granted, the SHA players were no saints either in this rivalry game; however, it is good to know that the coach understands the value of good sportsmanship
  14. Valkyries continue their improved team play from Friday night's 27 point game versus Notre Dame with an ugly, defensive win against their archrival Assumption. Monica McGreal led the way with 22 points.
  15. Hope Jenna is okay-she is a fun player to watch. Never seen a team go thru warm-ups as hard as Ryle. They put on a clinic
  16. Great support from the bench was the difference in this game. SHA shot 50% for the game and surprisingly played stingy defense against Marion Co. Will need to have 'A' game tomorrow against a familiar foe--Mercy. Better get those ice packs ready!!!
  17. This was a fun/exciting game to watch. Crittenden is the real deal! This game could have gone either way as SHA held on within the last two minutes. Had a 9 point lead, but couldn't finish the job at the free throw line until late. I expect Ryle to win the 9th region if they continue to improve. Jump definitely is a show stopper with some way downtown threes off of screens. Game was won after the first quarter. SHA 20,..Ryle 4. Ryle woke up, but lead was difficult to overcome. Teams played even in the second half after a 7 point game @ half.
  18. SHA won 49 to 48. Both teams looked nervous on the the 'sacred' floor. SHA was led by Morgan Clemons with 20 points.
  19. Usually offered while on camp as a camp participant. If a recruit is 'on-campus' at an Elite camp or Team Camp, then the offer can be tendered within those guidelines.
