  1. Shae Ferguson, Elliott's leading scorer, was out for this game and probably the next couple of games with an injury. Hopefully back for the districts.
  2. Mason County just had too much for Elliott to handle tonight, and probably any other night. Superb effort by both teams and the best team won tonight. Miller, Setty, and Middleton showed they were among the tops in the state, in their respective roles. Before I get hammered, notice I didn't say they were 1,2,3 in the state although Miller is among the top 3, if not tops. Ferguson for Elliott stroked the 3, as he usually does. Probably the biggest crowd I've seen in a regular season game.
  3. You forgot to mention the statement"Won't even be a game." Also, Mason will win by 25 or so depends on when they put the subs in. That was the only reason for my post. Both of these statements could be true but I think any Mason Co. fan would have responded likewise if I had stated these same statements against Mason Co. No offense taken by me from any party but just wanted to clear that up. Also note that I'm not trying to raise a "stink", so I will politely bow out of this one.
  4. No, 2handslam doesn't think he knows it all or does he want this thread closed. Most everyone misread the sarcasm in his post wrong. Let me make it easy for you'all. If Mason's coach thought Elliott was the "cupcake, creampuff, etc." that a lot of people claim they are, why would he schedule this game at all, much less later in the year (as Mcpapa stated about the tough scheduling)? Most cupcakes, if scheduled, are earlier in the year for a "tuneup". If one would do a little research, he/she would see 2handslam is an avid supporter of Elliott Couny basketball, boys and girls. Now having said that, do I think Elliott will win this game? Probably not. Can Elliott win this game? Yes, with an "A" game, they can. Oh, yeah, just for Mchs, did I think Mason would need wins badly, ummm.....let's see now......NO. Just a part of my misread sarcasm.
  5. Mason's coach must have thought he would need a win really bad this late in the season or he wouldn't have scheduled this "cupcake" team from the 16th region.
  6. Maybe not. Would it be better, you think, to put a 6'er on him?
  7. I think that was the exact point "Hoops" was making.
  8. Doubting there was much "scoreboard pointing" Jan. 5 also!!
  9. Making it to the 3rd round in any tournament such as this is an accomplishment. Nice job Rose Hill.
  10. One could also say when a ref/s makes every call 100 percent perfect, then you can blame the coaches, players etc. That's right, no one is ever perfect.....these days. There's only been one perfect man on this earth and they crucified him. The one screaming at me at work for my perceived mistakes is called BOSS, not ref..lol I can also see where cchs_dad is going- when the going gets tough, in tight situations-most everyone wants to blame a ref. How else can you take two fan bases and both complain that they were the ones to get the shaft?
  11. Players, fans, analysis, I will agree with. Coach should want a little glory imo to be a good coach. That doesn't mean he has to tell everyone about it though. Just a smug little warm cozy feeling that maybe, just maybe you outmaneuvered your opponent and checked all his adjustments. No arrogance, just  inside.
  12. Team x is really, really dependent on their point guard for all aspects of the game, i.e. calm under pressure(press) scorer, rebounder, defender. Next in line for this team is not very good. Point guard gets foul they should have been called for (1st quarter), plus a couple that are debateable(even with the other ref). Yes, I have seen players get called for fouls standing six feet away from the action. Well, anyway point guard sits. Maybe comes back in halfway through second, gets another "either way" charge/block call. Out again. Blah blah blah. We all can see where I'm going. IMO, a ref can change the outcome of a game very easily whether it is intentional or just a mistake or two.
  13. Elliott Co. wins 16th region All A- first time in school history.
  14. I don't think he's figured that out yet. When he does, I agree.
  15. I'm pretty sure they didn't leave it wide open.lol Elliott's game with this particular team has always been 3's.
  16. That would make for a really good board . 50 repeat posts of "good game" without any debating as to why x team won and what y team didn't do to win the game etc. now, wouldn't it. I don't think the facts that Rose had more rebounds, shot a better percentage, had a better game plan debatedly, are excuses as to why they won just as I don't think the low shooting percentage some have stated about Elliott are excuses. Just facts. Good luck with Bath and you're right, it doesn't matter now, but makes for some good debates and that is what this site is all about.
  17. If you did in fact "fully believe they did and do", there is no or#2 and #3. Why even add them in the mix? As for excuses, I have none. It's simple, Rose Hill won fair and square.
  18. Using this logic, should we say North Carolina and Tennessee should lose their high ranking after being beaten by a couple of unranked teams. I really don't think so myself, you can't base rankings on one game, otherwise there would be new rankings everyday.
