  1. How about the Daleville H.S. -Warhawks (pretty good i thought)
  2. Bracken was able to keep it respectable. It wound up being 67-51 Montgomery County. Montgomery County shot the ball well. Coach Rison's guys sure do play hard around the basket.
  3. I played ball against their coach (Lance Weems) down there. He scored over 1,000 pts. at Auburn University. Good player, great guy, great coach. His dad is a shoe-in hall of famer in the high school basketball coaching ranks in Clay Co., Alabama. Roll tide.
  4. He had like 25 but he was the only one with 25. You know how things go especially as a point guard. He penetrated really well got about 18 pts off of layups but he still had duties to distribute the ball and in high school once you get rid of it, you typically dont get it back. Not a good flow in last nights game
  5. it was not a pretty game at all. Montgomery Co. is strong, physical, athletic, skilled and deep. should be able to compete for the 10th
  6. i saw the #3 kid and you are right. he is a raw dawg. he handles the ball like a college point guard however i dont feel like bath pressured him enough but in the open court, NASTY.
  7. early on i thought that mason and clark were going to sweep the 10th. i played montgomery county earlier this season and they absolutely suprised me. stephens or not they have so much diversity, good guards, good post players, size, speed, and more importantly now, knowledge. these kids are a year older and bigger faster and stronger. clark, rash, and nester are all football players at mchs and it shows believe me. now that knowles is out with grades. i pick montgomery 68-60. go indians (dont sleep on their bench play)
  8. i differ from you hardball. i dont think coaches coach talent. talen is god given. i always tell my guys this. any man can call himself a carpenter but what kind of tools are you working with. great coaches are determined by getting players to play outside of their comfort zone and winning with less talent. and a few more ingredients, but overall that is the meat and potatoes of it
  9. hey tomcat. can i find the preseason daily independent paper online anywhere??
  10. I feel that it is needed at the high school level. players at this level need to be taught how to foster a lead and then how to protect that lead. not build a lead and hold the ball until the horn blows. its not good basketball. you can only call so many timeouts and foul so many times. a shot clock will give teams that are down guaranteed possessions.
