Same here, I did not mean any disrespect..... It is game day BABY!!!! We have had all week to talk to about this matchup, so now it is time to line up and tee off... I think this is what makes High School Football special. These kids (on both sides) have been preparing all week, for one game, where as in basketball you might play 3 games a week. A lot of heart goes into football. Having said that, I think the team that shows the most heart tonight wins. Raceland has a good passing game, and they have their share of athletes, Paris has a big O-line, with some skill players that have some speed. Should be a good game......(It should be a good game next week as well)

Do you mean that Paris is going to come out in a whole new offense, or something to that effect? I think it would be impossible for a team to come out with a whole new look in one week, I say impossible meaning that it would probably not look very sharp. I am sure that Paris probably has some things Raceland hasn't seen, and I am sure Raceland has some things that Paris hasn't seen. There is a lot on the line for these 2 teams Friday night. So I am sure both sides might have a few "tricks" up their sleeves.....

That would be a long bus ride back to Raceland in back-back weeks if Paris loses......

Paris is more than capable of winning this game. If Raceland takes this game lightly as mentioned above, then Paris will walk out with a win. In a game of this magnitude for both teams I don't see Raceland taking this lightly. If (once again another "If") Paris comes to play, meaning they play the way they are capable of playing, this should be an excellent ball game. Raceland is good football team, so it will be tough. They have owned Paris for the last couple of years. The hounds have to bring it on Friday, because they can guarantee Raceland will. Once again, good is in the eye of the beholder, as someone mentioned above. What is good to one might not appear so good to another. August is a nice little community that enjoys Augusta High School Athletics. They might not have the strongest teams to compete in the region every year, but I guarantee every year they will play hard and they have had some good teams.

The kids have to want to be coached as well........ I don't think any coach in the state Ky wants to be mediocre(sp). I guarantee every offensive line coach in the state of Ky stresses to their players that they have to be aggressive in firing off. I don't know what they do at practice though or what their attitude is like in practice, I am just going by what I see in the games. The point is this. Paris is very atheltic. They have some great individual athletes, but they are not a very strong team. The key word being "team". It just seems that anytime a team comes out and "hits them in the mouth", they back down. Do I hope Paris wins? Absolutely. Will they beat Raceland? Based on what I have seen when they face good teams, I don't think they will. It could be long ride back from Ashland for the Hounds, which will make it an even longer trip next week.

Raceland has a good team. When Paris plays a good team, that can compete with them, they have difficulty. Paris has a big line, but they will not come off the ball with any aggressiveness. They have some big kids, but little desire to be good., maybe the desire to be good is there, but perhaps the work ethic is not. I don't know what it is. Raceland will win this game based on what I have seen Paris do against the other 2 good teams they have played (Frankfort and Lex. Christian). If Raceland gets up 14-0, call it ballgame, because the Hounds cannot play from behind. Sometimes it doesn't matter how athletic your team is, they have to want to do the little things. From what I have seen Raceland does the little things and Paris doesn't.

When it comes to playing a good team, Paris folds. The two good teams they have played have beat them, (Frankfort and LCA). When Paris plays Raceland in 2 weeks, Raceland will probably beat them. Paris does not have the discipline and mental toughness to beat a good team. When Paris faces adversity their players fall apart and start pointing fingers at each other. They can beat the weaker teams on athletic ability, but when they face a team that is disciplined, Paris will lose every single time. It looks as though they play as individuals and not as a team. LCA was clearly the better team in this match up.....

How does Raceland have another district championship if Paris wins? Doesn't Paris and Raceland play at the end of the year. If Paris beats LCA they (Paris) are undefeated in the district and Raceland has one loss in the district. So I am not sure how Paris beating LCA would give Raceland a district championship?
