  1. No argument there but the fact that word hasn’t been done away with has zero to do with black people and how they may or may not use the word.
  2. Awesome. Thank you! I couldn’t remember if WKU had offered him.
  3. We are 200 posts in on a debate about the use of the n word. Multiple people are saying or implying that blacks need to quit using the n word and if they use it then blacks can’t get mad when white people use it. CWB hit the nail on the head in post #198. The same absurdity you feel about this post of mine that you quoted is the same absurdity I feel about having a discussion about white people using the n word. If I was killed by a cop there’s a pretty good chance most people would hear the story and say it was my fault regardless of my interpretation or perpspective of the same event. I see the same thing about this discussion of the n word. “Blacks can use it all they want. Just don’t get mad when other races use it.” That’s a quote in this thread. So yeah, you can call it absurd all you want. I call it reality.
  4. Yes. I know plenty of black people who don’t care if white people use the n word in a friendly manner.
  5. Can we get a full up to date list of his offers? Does anyone have that info?
  6. So he hadn’t spoken with Coach Mack at all and speaks with Coach Justus daily and UL offers before UK does. Interesting.
  7. As long as people continue to accuse the blacks of looking for an argument about racism when these topics of racism become a discussion then no one should ever expect racism to end. I’ve already instructed my kids to not expect an end to racism in their lifetime and I imagine that they will instruct my grandkids to this reality as well.
  8. In my opinion it shouldn’t be the responsibility of black people to get rid of a word that black people never wanted to hear or use in the first place. If that word was properly policed by white people back in the 1950s and 60s then chances are it never would have become popular in use amongst blacks in the 70s and 80s. Good luck stopping that train now.
  9. Dr. Ricky L. Jones just experienced this on twitter from Tariq Nasheed about this particular issue. It happens quite a bit. Especially on social media.
  10. I have experienced that. I have also seen black people who hate black people.
  11. Only one part of society communicates in an offensive manner? :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: Humor me. Which part of society does that?
  12. Good point. I haven’t heard many people in this area use the n word but I bet there are quite a few that do.......
  13. It’s clear it has multiple meanings. Folks just don’t like it when those meanings don’t apply to them allowing them to use the word. The B word means female dog but I don’t know anyone who uses that word to describe an actual female dog.
  14. The technical definition means an ignorant person. Answer this question. Why did that word get branded to be used specifically against black people in a derogatory manner?
  15. Why is it that white people want to hold black people more accountable for use of the n word but don’t want to hold white people accountable for the centuries of systemic racism that has afflicted the black community? Y’all are more worried about me using a word amongst my friends in my safe space than y’all are about me being killed by the police and then screwed over by the justice system.
  16. All I see are a bunch of excuses for people who don’t have the intellectual capabilities of knowing when you can and can’t be offensive. There isn’t a person in this thread who hasn’t said something that would offend someone but I bet you that everyone in this thread learned one way or another how, when and where to say offensive things. I say offensive things all of the time but I’m not stupid enough to say offensive things in front of the wrong people. Is common sense really disappearing as rapidly as it seems? Edit: Hell, don’t answer that last question.
  17. So basically you’re saying that he isn’t smart enough to just say “n word” instead of saying the actual word?
