  1. How about you Hilltopper Dad... Do you have any information about the upcoming passing scrimmages? How is the passing game looking?
  2. Has anyone been able to check out Breathitt's passing attack this year. Jade should do a good job filling in at that position. Also, when could someone check out some of their passing schrimages? I would love to go down and see how they look. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
  3. I was wondering if anyone has been able to get out and watch any of Breathitt's spring practices. Also what does everyone think of their chances this coming season. I know they will have to replace a couple on offense, but should have more than enough to fill the roles with good quality underclassmen. They have a dandy young QB in Jade Haddix and he seems to bring a little more versatility to the table with his ability to run the option. Do they have what it takes to maybe go one step further this year?
  4. I was needing directions from Breathitt County to Diddle Arena. Can anyone help me out with this.
  5. There is no way that you could consider Hazard or Johnson Central among the elite in the mountains. Until this past year Hazard had never even made it to the semifinals before. Johnson Central has barely done anything in the playoffs also. When talking about the elite you have to mention teams that have played and faired well in the past against the state's elite. I will list 5 that should be considered among the elite of the muntains: Bell Breathitt Belfry Corbin Rockcastle
  6. I know that it sounded like both teams had their share of turnovers. Alot of Belfry fans are saying that turnovers killed their chances, but didn't Central have more turnovers than Belfry? Does anyone have the official stats that maybe could shed some light on this?
  7. I think that you are fooling yourself if you think that Belfry has supperior speed compared to central. They may own every other advantage, but definatley not speed.
  8. I would have to go with Hazard. I think that they have a good team, but they have had the easiest road to the State of any team. I don't agree with this new format. If you look at the teams that Hazard and Lex Christian have faced ( no disrespect to the teams they played) you would have to consider that probably the easiest road to the finals that any 1A team has ever faced. I personally think that this new format will hurt Kentucky Football more than it will help.
  9. I was wondering if anyone could give me directions on how to get to Belfry. I used to always go with my dad and he knew how, but I will be going solo this Friday night. I know that you used to make a turn there somewhere in Pikeville, but since then I know that they have made the roads alot better over through there and supposedly shortened the distance. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you don't want to post them on here then you can email me at mcampbell@woodmark.com thanks,
  10. That is # 81 Wes Epperson. That is a great picture, you was definatley in good position for that picture.
  11. I was right there for that Breathitt v/s Boyle game, the only difference was that in 1996, Breathitt had a young team that was made up of mostly sophomores. When comparing the 2002 Breathitt squad, there is no comparison when talking about a team that fielded 17 seniors that had the most explosive offense in the state of Kentucky that year. Boyle was fundamentally sound, but they didn't hit you like that 02 Russell squad. Russel's Linebackers that year where as good as any collective group, that Iv'e ever seen at this level. Our 1996 offense was good, but not as dangerous as 02 offense.
  12. That 2002 game was probably the most exciting and eplosive atmosphere that I have ever been apart of. I will definatley give props to the whole defense of Russell. They had some real studs that year on defense. I will still say to this day that they where the best defense I have ever seen Breathitt go against. That is saying something, I'v watched Breathitt play pretty much every game dating back to 1995 and have never seen a more physical defense. Justin did have one of his worst games that night, but mostly because of the schemes that Russell was running. The best part was not only was Russell very well coached, but they where a very classy bunch of kids. After the game, I was down on the field and run into your guys best tailback, (Gross I think) and he was very polite. I told him that he had nothing to drop his head about because he had just played one heck of a ball game. I am excited to see this game between 2 of Eastern Kentucky's finest coaches. See you guys there.
  13. I am looking forward to the trip up to Russell. I do have a question for some of you out there, can someone give me directions to Russell's football field from Jackson? Thanks for the help.
  14. Does anyone have any stats for this one. It looks like Breathitt is really getting things together. There is alot of good young talent on this Breathitt squad. The next couple of years could be real special.:thumb:
  15. Breathiitt and their defense started out of the gate slow tonight but got things going later in the 2nd quarter. I don't think that Breathitt expected Boyd to pass the ball like they did going into the game. If this team can learn to play a full 4 quarters, then there is no telling how good they could be. Still a good effort from a young team that has a lot of different looks on offense.
  16. Did anyone travel to letcher county last night and watch any of this matchup. Who looked good?
  17. topperdad, Is it true that Middlesboro will also be at Letcher Central next friday. Do you have any idea what time this scrimmage starts?
  18. TopperDad, Do you know who we will be scrimmaging in the next couple of weeks and also what are the dates and times. Any information would greatly be appreciated.
  19. What does everyone think about this week 3 matchup? From what I have heard and read in other papers, Western has alot of talent and speed in their backfield. I will stick with the bobcats in a close one. Breathitt 34 Western 21
  20. Breathitt played a very average game tonight. They seem to be making alot of mental errors on defense and on offense. I do however see a big difference in the skill level of our players this year. I see this team greatly improving as the year goes on. Right now we are in a learning process for all of our skilled positions. With the loss of only 4 seniors this year and the fact that we are playing mostly freshmen and sophmores, the future does look bright for these young bobcats.
