I have told you before that I have known these kids since the third grade. I've been to every national AAU tournament and countless other tourneys that these kids have been in. I am willing to bet that I know these kids alot better than you. OK. So quit with that. We can continue with this argument forever and not get anywhere. I believe that both Mike and Duran are great baketball players and are on about the same level. Mike does somethings better and Duran is better at somethings. I just believe that most coaches who know these two kids and have seen these two kids play would rather have Mike. And that's based on talent and attitude.

Im not sure about Todd but I know Austin played. It was the nationals in Orlando.

Yeah, I am pretty sure they didnt have Kiernan. From what I heard they played zone all game. OJ had 30 something but Bill had really bad game.

I just got word that they lost but played very good. They only lost by 12 so not too bad. Maybe Budman can fill us in more a little later. I did hear though that they held Walker to only 4 pts.

What are you talking about man? Go back and read my posts. I had Holmes as my number 1 team in Nky and had 3 of Holmes' players on my top 5 list. And I don't recall ever touting Nate Edmonson either. You really need to get your facts together man. Your now making yourself look silly. As for a bias, yes I do have one for Mike Hester. Simply because I love to watch the kid play and have alot of respect for how much heart the kid has. What's so wrong with that?

Thank you NEERFAN someone who has actual facts. Mike wasnt kicked off his aau team several times and suspended from school ball either. So your comparison is totaly ridiculous. As for the Holmes game Mike asked the ref to call a foul and the ref gave him a technical. It was Steiner's decision to not put him back in the rest of the game. Mike was in the wrong there I know but that was the only incident and not that big.

We both have our opinions. Thats fine, yours just happens to be wrong. Mike has had a problem with his emotions but that was with himself. When he was playing bad he got upset with himself. He never gets on teammates for mistakes. Mike comes to practice everyday and practices hard and doesnt see himself on a different plateu. Last year Mike as far as I can remember didnt have any problems like he did earlier in his career but as far as I can remember there were alot of posts on here about a player blowing a regional game because of his attitude. And like I said before Ive been around both these kids since 4th grade and my statement seems to be more true.

Yes, I do agree with you scooterbob. These kids have been used ever since there elementary school days. I remember seeing OJ down at a Mason Co tourney when he was in the 6th grade and playing for the West Virginia Express. Even then he had a posse of people ( none of which seemed to be his parent ) not quite as big as he does now but this is a 6th grader you know. But none the less these "kids" who by now are adults have to learn sometime that their actions will cause reactions. I have a feeling all of this might wind up in court someday after OJ starts making some serious money.

Easy with the pity party. I find it hard to feel sorry for these two kids. I think in the long run they will be just fine. You sound like you want to blame all of the trouble these two get in to on others. I agree with alot that you say regarding this but nobody made OJ skip class to get his hair cut lastyear. Did they? I think thats a bit of OJ's fault.

To me this should be a little one of life's lessons for Bill. Him and OJ have been living up on this pedistal that alot of us and others have put them on. It might be a good thing for him to know that he's not above the rules and will have to suffer some consequence if he breaks them. As for Huggins, what does he ever do that doesnt seem a little fishy. The whole Walker & Mayo thing should send up a red flag to the NCAA. What could Bob really have to offer these kids besides something that he shouldnt be.

It's nice to know that you know most people's opinion. I've been around both these kids since their Glenn O Swing days and I know lots of people that would disagree with YOUR belief.

First off Todd Jacobs isnt even a point guard and as for Mike being a dish first shoot second type point guard? He just happens to be a fine one that averages 17pts a game so I dont think that is too bad for someone who looks to pass first. The one thing I will add to the comparisons is this. You take Duran and replace him with Mike and I could guarantee you that Holmes would be at state next year making some big noise. And it doesnt have so much to do with talent because I know Duran has lots of that but it has to do with chemistry. And in that department wheter it be with Holmes or with the Tarheels in aau ball, there's always been a bit of a problem with Duran in terms of leadership.

And I have no problem with your opinion. I'm sorry I kind of took a comment you made earlier the wrong way. As for the comparisons I still disagree on a few things. I've been watching Mike and alot of these kids play since they were in the 3rd grade. I've seen Mike play on a floor where he was 5 inches shorter than anyone else and against some really top notch players in AAU ball. And there has'nt been one time when you could say that number 3 shouldnt be on the floor. Does size matter to college coaches? Of course it does. I know that and everybody else on here knows that. That's why guys like the before mentioned Alleyne and Orbzut and the masses of really tall, really mediocre basketball players are in Div 1 basketball. Coaches would rather have a 6ft 4in point guard with limited skills rather than a 5ft 9in point guard who has alot. All I can say about it is...It's a shame that the one thing you can point out about a kid like Mike is his size. I dont believe for a second that he doesnt have as much skill and ability as Jacobs or Jefferson at anything on the floor. As for strength, I guarantee you Mike is alot stronger then you think. ( I would take him in an arm wrestling match over Jefferson -not Jacobs but Jefferson)...lol. And you can ask anyone who has gotten a chance to play with him, how much of a great teammate he is. Like Budman has said before he is without a doubt the most unselfish kid on the floor in each game he plays. A kid with talent at this level gets a little selfish from time to time you know? Bottom line...Does Mike deserve (as all the other undersized but very good players out there do too) a chance to play D-1 ball? yes. Will he? You're right probably not. But they are still looking at him and that chance is always there, that a coach will look past the height and see the true talent that the kid has. And just how much it would help his team to have a player like that. You never know.

One simple question to you h.s.sportsrbest and I'll will try to remain calm. Why do you believe Jefferson and Jacobs are better players than Hester other then a few more inches?

You can come on here and make your opinions and thats fine but to make jokes about a 17 year old kid's chances is a little much and sad.

Yeah, I like how you change your statement from just getting interests to now going D-1. Eat your crow the way you said you would. And as for Duran being better, Duran's taller and that's it. Mike is right there with Duran as far as talent goes and is a better scorer than Duran. Plus you know what kind of teammate you're getting with Mike unlike Duran. And i'll be the judge of your credibilty to me on this site. This is the only post I have seen you make and you should be embarrased.

You sound like someone who knows nothing about basketball or someone who really doesnt like Mike. From the info I have been getting SK is getting calls left and right about him. He's got an offer from Georgetown I believe and some D-1 schoool's such as Evansville and Ohio University have shown interest. He is the best point guard in NKy and an absolute stud of an athlete. You should learn a few things about basketball before coming on here and making obsurd comments like that.

I think that's quite a bit of a stretch to say he would probably be in the NFL someday. Austin is a tremendous athlete no doubt but I think he is in love with basketball and not football. He would probably get recruited by a few D-1 schools if he focused more on the pigskin but the hardwood is where he wants to be. NFL? I personally doubt that.

I love Corey's game. I think he has a great all around game. Probably a NAIA school or D-2 school would be might guess. I think he would get alot more recognition and pub if he played at a bigger school.
