As the parent of another freshman from a different school....just a note on the "little freshman point guard at Boone"........Look around at some of the other schools and you will see several freshman players who can handle the ball much better AND play awesome defense And shoot the ball all while keeping a positive attitude and not trash talking her opponent. Our experience with Heather's behavior in middle school over the past three years was that it was unexcusable.....Hopefully Fookes has made it known to her that she doesn't tolerate such behavior.

Boone shows what the youngsters can do!!! By the way... I am not a Boone parent...but love to see these girls get the recognition they deserve. Bradley is MVP .....the whole package!!! Represent our region well!!!!!

I think in no way should the credit not go to Jacy Bradley. So many people have counted Boone as an underdog because of the "youth" on the team. I have watched many of these girls play for years in AAU National competitions and would venture to say Bradley is one of the best I have seen at any age!!! Too much emphasis is put on grade level and not talent level. It's time to give credit where credit is due!!! If you are more talented than the "older" player.....you deserve the "star status".

WOW Final score 42-41 Boone. Jacy Bradley is player of the game. AND rightfully so!! I have watched this girl play since she was little and she is a true STAR!!!

I agree how pathetic it is that neither local newspaper has any info about the games tonight. And very minimal coverage throughout the whole season.What a shame. I would like to see some AD's put the pressure on...as I hear that can make the difference!

My vote goes to the Boone County Lady Rebels!!!!!!!

I think Holy Cross will come out ahead of Highlands, mostly because of the great attitude of this team (see post under 9th region!) They are very talented and IMO have had a tougher schedule this season than Highlands and therefore will be ready for regional level play! Holy Cross by 12! I think Dixie could hold off Boone , but it will depend on how bad Dixie wants it. They can play with the powerhouse Boone as they did 2 weeks ago on Dixies home court. A very close game up until the last few minutes. On the other hand Boone is not going to want a second loss in a row, so I know how bad they are going to want this win!! Coach Fookes and Coach Spritzky are both excellent coaches with much in common. Too close to call!!

I agree. I have seen both play several times this season. Sneed is definitely a strong player. She has much more potential (IMO) than she is putting effort towards. She can turn it up ,thats true, but just doesn't seem to have the drive to do so all the time. This is a game of 110% all the tme. Which is what I think of when I see Lantry play. Lantry, to me is the whole package!! I am not a Holy Cross fan nor parent (in fact I have a daughter on an opposing team), but have used Lantry in several conversations this season with my daughter to illustrate some principles I am hoping to continue to instill in my still young player! Rachels attitude is by far the best I have seen in many years of AAu and school basketball! She plays with her heart AND her head. If things aren't developing in a game situation as she thinks they should ...she appears to handle it sooooo well and get on with the game.No pouting, no mouthing off, no faces made! That seems to be contagious with the rest of the team. Thus the Holy Cross' teams continuing success!!

BIGZIG...Thank you!!!! Someone has finally seen that the Lady Colonels will be a force to be reckoned with in the next few years. They WILL make some noise next year! There are some really dedicated players on the team that will be working hard in the off season to improve on some basic skills, gain some confidence, and take advantage of having learned so much from an excellent coach this year. They are a young team, including an eighth grader who became a starter during the last half of the season. Firth will be well and come back strong and healthy for her senior year!! And don't count them out of the Region yet!!!......stranger things have happened!! Anybody's game on any-given day!!

And the point is?......

Looks like the Dixie Lady Colonels will have the pleasure of meeting the Boone County team in Regionals. Anybody know any other pairings/brackets.

Huge Congrats to the Dixie Lady Colonels! It has been a tough season for the team, but some inspiring words from the seniors last night before the game , helped them to realize they could become back to back District 34 champions. They did it!!! "They played with their heart, they played with their head, they played together, and they played to win!" Good luck in Regionals. I do think Lloyd could hold classes on Team Spirit!!! Their fans truly support their team!! Good Luck Lady Juggs!! Who thinks Dixie might just surprise the 9th District !!!???
