Thought Bellevue would play better this week than in the past weeks. Thought they would win, didn't think they would win by this much, but congrats to the Tigers.
Me Niether:cry: We were not prepared for the no huddle offense and their big line. They must not have given us a tape showing it.
We made it real easy for the Tigers on two TD.
Looked like only half of our team came to play tonight. We should have given them a much better game.
Loved how the team sung to their faithful fans.
Congrats to the Tiger's, Hope Buckler's ankle will be OK. He's kinda family.

I think it alot of it depends on Carlton...is he playing or was he in the FFA brigade?
Carlton did not go to the event and will start tonight.
-
So are the kids going to FFA event not allowed to play at all?
I have heard that they may sit out anywhere from one possesion on offense and defense, to one quarter.
-
I agree. If there is going to be any problems, it will come from the pressure from parents. Hopefully, Coach Browning has the support of the administration in these kinds of matters.
Not from this parent. My son missed the Spencer County game for a stupid action and his team suffered because they needed him. He said it was worth it, but when he heard that his team lost and really needed him, his feelings completely changed.
However, I have mixed feelings about this because the kids going to FFA have not missed any practices that I know of and it is a school function that is also important to them.
Unfortunately, Life is not fair. In this current society where parents want their kids to have everything and do everything and the kids expect to get what they want with no consequences, it is refreshing to see all of the Gallatin coaches sticking to their rules outlined and signed by the players in the begining of the season.

Coach B, you are right about waking up in the second half. They seemed asleep in the first half, especially after EJ got hurt. It seemed like nobody wanted to take charge. In the second half, Mico Wells, Cameron Jouett and Kwan(sp?) Weaver decided to take over. Weaver is incredible for a sophomore. He has such a quick first step; he is through the hole and GONE! I was also impressed with #32 when he took over at QB in the second half.
Why the change to start the game with Metcalf at QB and EJ at wide receiver? I didn't think it was particularly successful. Comments?
I would think the reason for putting Fields at WR is beacause... well... he committed to kentucky to be one.
-
And your reasoning for that is..........................:jump:
There is no way that Spencer is that much better. Like Olballcoach said, Gallatin really missed Henson. If he was there, Riggs wouldn't have been able to run off-tackle all night.
-
I've seen this kid play since he was little and any of the three guards from SK (Barnes, Ponzer or Slavey) will have no problem guarding him. I guess we will see when SK comes to Gallatin.
And when Maddox gets on the post im sure they can all guard him since he's only 6'4".
-
Here are stats on Justin Hawkes.
13 tackles, including 3 sacks
1 interception
9 carries for 95 yds
3 TDs
Of course, I am sure that theoldcoach has the official stats.
Are those the game stats or season stats?

Henson, Nunn what does it matter! The boys in blue made the play. Nice Win.
I would like to send out a HUGE thank you to the folks at Gallatin for saving a parking spot up close to the fence for my dad who just got out of the hospital so he could watch. The high school front office, AD, and fans made sure it was available. Thank you thank you thank you! It made his night even though on the losing end.
Hope your Dad is feeling better soon. Good Luck in the rest of your season :-)
-
Hmmm...thats funny, from where I was sitting in the stands in the corner of the endzone, it seemed to me that Henson was not near the tackle. I believe it was Nunn who made the tackle because he was in the linebacker position, but thats just what I seen.
Ky Post has it as Henson too.
-
Have to plug some of my defensive boys. Couple of great blocks by Lusby, and LeGrande and Nunn. Henson had several outstanding sacks, blocks, and stops at the goal line when we needed it most.
Does anyone know if Carroll has been practicing in the heat? Looked like Carroll had alot more cramping and injuries than Gallatin.

I think the game will be fought hard with a Gallatin win in a close game. The atmosphere should be electric despite the warm weather! Gallatin plays it's first Friday night game at home... EVER. I saw the Gallatin kids tonight and they looked ready to get it on. Good luck Gallatin and bring home a win.

He has been seen walking the streets of Warsaw... So my guess is that he is leaning towards coming to Gallatin.

Gallatin will have a rough start because they lost there 2 best player and a quality role player. I am sorry, but no team in this region I believe could lose Edmonson and Perkins and be better than they were the year before. Not to mention Davis was the strongest player that GC had. They will have there struggles, but they will be tough again. I dont know much about SO but HC lost 6 seniors and Joey Pollard re-tore his ACL this summer. He will be out for a while as well. They will be decent, but I would expect them an Owen to have a run for 2nd.
IMO I thought Gallatin played better w/o Edmonson than they did with him because they had more chemistry together. It took Edmonson a long time to find his place on the team. I agree that Davis was there strongest player, but he was not fundmentally sound. If you watched him play for 6 games as you suggested, you probably noticed that he started games but did not play much in those games. They definitely will miss Perkins, Edmonson, and to some extent, Davis. However, the GC Wildcats will be a better team this year than last. Gallatin will have a rough start because they play the defending state champs the first game of the season. After that, they will roll!!
-
Any new recruits? Who is playing well? Thanks
Current summer top five, Carollton,Jones,Henson,Brown,Maddox all playing very well with Sophmore Jones filling in nicely. This team ball movement and defense is very fun to watch and looking forward to next season.

blowout
Blowout? Have you ever seen Gallatin play? Look at Gallatin's schedule from last year. If Gallatin cant beat Boone then they will atleast play with them.
-
I hope Gallatin plays Boone.

Like I was telling spillywilly, I said that from the 2008 class, he is the only one that stood out to me. Im not saying he is the lonesome returnee, just that he was the only one that stood out from that particular class. And I only mentioned the wins from the previous years because teammomaholic wants to compare classes so I gave my opinion on him saying that Gallatin has "dominated", when in fact they have not. Just trying to make a point here. All I have left to say is, I cannot wait to see this tournament and may the best team win.
Ok. Lets compare classes. '08 of Gallatin has Henson, Brown, and Jones. '08 of Carroll had Welch. He chose to be a cheerleader instead. Carroll Has nobody that impresses me in the '08 class. '09 of Gallatin has Carlton and Maddox. If you want to name someone on Carroll that can even try to play on the same level as those two then put Cable and maybe Hendricks. I really dont know who is on Carroll's '10 class so i wont name Gallatins. But we Did dominate the past two seasons. Gallatin has lost once to Carroll in the past two seasons.
Come to think of it, we not only dominated Carroll on the hardwood, We whipped 'em on the gridiron too.
-
Im going to go with Carroll. Gallatin gets hit hard with graduation as they lose Perkins and Edmondson, just to name two. Walton also lsoes their big man and a shooter in Jones. Carroll will be young again next year but some have recieved quality varsity time and I think that they will be ready. Can't wait for the season to start, should be a good one!
You actually believe carroll is going to win this tournament? Gallatin's 2008 class dominated these teams from 7th grade to freshman. Gallatin is returning 4 players that have been named to either one of the all conference teams in the past two years, and they are returning 5 kids that have started before and got some playing time at the State level. Carroll has as much of a chance as williamstown.
-
I think another reason that they only use 10-12 is because some of the extremely smaller schools start their high school in the tenth grade. I believe Heritage academy is middle school from 7th to 9th.
-
GC will be a surprise to those that take this team for granted. They have a very good core of young men coming up that will help fill some of the holes that were exposed last year. Losing JR Davis will be tough to fill but they are going to be fine.
Good luck to the Cats this season.

This is probably the dirtiest game i have seen. That is all that I am going to say about this one.
