  1. For what its worth...I felt that LCA did not come out ready to play. They were flat (probably because of beating Beechwood) and uninspired. By the time they woke up it was 27-0. The QB for NCC is THE REAL DEAL. He throws one of the best balls in the state. Another player not being mentioned on here is the DL for NCC #75. He is probably the biggest reason for the demise of the LCA running game. #76 did a great job inside and rushing the QB but it was #75 who really shut down the LCA offense. LCA could not down block him at all...He constantly blew up LCA's sweeps which is the bread and butter of LCA's offense. NCC defensensive game plan was superb and executed even better. Hats off to NCC and good luck WINING The STATE.

  2. What are the plans for the stadium at LCA in the coming years? I know it's a newer school and they may not be able to do everything at once, but any improvements planned?

From what I understand they are going to start a Stadium drive after the season to raise money to build a new one for the next couple of years.

  3. From what I READ on here I think NCC is just to fast, talented, and seasoned for LCA...HOWEVER, I think LCA's team speed plays a major role in this game. I don't think you can ever compare the NCC/BW score as that is a rivalry game and scores and records go out the window. I lot of posters talk about NCC's speed and athleticism being the difference...but I think it is going to be the opposite of that. LCA has a tremendous amount of athletes and speed on the field. They get a lot of people to the ball on defense and don't give up a lot of big plays. On offense (even though Hayden is their stud) they spread the ball around a lot. With Kite finally coming back to full strength at FB this gives LCA another threat on offense that they haven't had until the Beechwood game. IMHO I think whichever team controls the ball by RUNNING it will win this game. LCA is obviously a running team and NCC runs the ball extremely well too...VERY close game!

    LCA pulls off the upset!

  4. Game Discussion:

I think the big difference in the game was LCA's TEAM speed. LCA has a couple of kids that are really fast but their overall TEAM speed is really good. Because of this they are able to get a lot of people to the ball on defense and prevent big plays. Beechwood just couldn't get off a big play in the game to turn old mo' on their side. Another thing that was VERY suprising to me was LCA's ability to shut down BW's running game. BW pretty much abandoned the run midway through the second quarter...and once LCA got up 21-7 the change was really noticable...I NEVER would have dreamed the rushing stats in the game would have been what they were.

  5. Just so we're clear Gus, that was a scrimmage, right?

Yes it was...but what I was referring too was LCA jumped out early on South. I understand it was a scrimmage and all....

I am saying that LCA must come have a fast start in order to win the game.

  6. Coach Mason will be back next season. He has 100% support from the administration and AD. He does it right and some kids aren't willing to put in what it takes to win in that region.

As far as under achieving. If you ask him, every team under achieves except those playing in December. The 04 team under achieved and defeated 2 top 10 4-A (Louisville Manuel and Louisville Butler) teams and lost to X, North Hardin (played X tough), Boyle Co, Bardstown (rivalry game minus 4 starters NC is 8-22 vs B-town), and Oldham Co in overtime.

The NC team in 05 had 4 kids in week 1 with ANY experience. I expect NC to get back to work soon and be ready to go next season.

Hopefully things will get back on track in '06. I know no one will work harder than Coach Mason.

  7. You don't need to come on here and start spreading rumors about someones livlihood. Mason is a good person and coach. Many of the things that happened at Nelson this year were out of his control.

Wasn't trying too...I agree Mason is a great guy...Was told that by someone else. I personally think it would be a mistake to get rid of Coach Mason.

  8. It ALL depends on which LCA team shows up. The LCA team that blew away South Oldham 49-6 or the slow starter (like the last few weeks). If LCA comes out flat and doesn't start playing till midway through the second quarter the game will already be over. BUT, if LCA comes out hot then they are going to give Beechwood all they want. Game could go either way. The one factor in the game is Beechwoods experience (playoff).

  9. For what it's worth, I hope it gets defeated. In all honesty, no system is going to be perfect, and the current arrangement is probably them best, considering everything.

As long as Highlands doesn't get put in the class with Trinity and Saint X, I'll be happy!

Why would Highlands get put in a class with Trinity and St. X. Highlands is a public school.
