  1. Overall, I would say a great start for the Camels. Looks like Coach Styer has the kids working hard and getting ready for another tough year, because it sure does not get any easier for them over the next few games and then there is our district to worry about. I thought the stadium looked great last night, hats off to those staff people that help put it together. I have a good feeling about the kids and the team this season.
  2. I do not see anyone getting off the topic of this thread. The issue that is facing campbell county right now is who will come in and pick up the pieces that have been started by joe roberts, that is all. Everyone in this post has directed to this except the small segment about brossart football and the use of the field at cc, but even then, a small point has been made. It seems that joe helped bridge the gap for issues such as this and he understood what it means to the community to work together. It is obivious that the high school administration and some of the coaches (and if you listen to 92Bird, one coach), did not support this idea and would rather keep it the way it has always been. From reading what is being said, there is just a plain lack of support for athletics at the high school level. I stated in a previous post that I thanked joe for getting the youth football program up and running for the kids and I was serious about that, my child played last year in the league and yes it was new and rough around the edges, but the kids had fun and we have already signed him up for next year. I remember the night we got to play the game at the middle school under the lights, mr. sandlin from the middle school was there and helped add a since of support for joe in the efforts of the programs. if this type of feeling would be spread in the schools, everyone would be successful. from what I am reading, that will not be the case unless someone gets ahold of the situation and if it does not change, I will for my kids. I am sure I can find a high school that will take my kids, maybe even Lebanon.
  3. Joe was not fired, he left on his own terms. This all sounds like the posts from two years ago when coach schlarman left. The high school administration does not want to see the athletic program to succeed because of the bitterness that still exists when all the changes occured. I just do not understand, maybe it is because I am new to the area and I want to raise my family here and I want my kids to go to Campbell County Schools. How can you not support athletics? I have not found a CATS Test discussion web site yet? I agree with the previous post in the fact that reitz and heringer are strong coaches and they care about the programs, but aren't they apart of the new changes as well? What will we do next? Is it just safe to say that Campbell County does not want any outsiders to move here and raise families? Just leave it the way it has always been? I have only had the opportunity to speak with Joe in passing or at events, (since he was always around). He never showed any emotions of regret for being here, I will miss seeing the energy that he gave to the programs, for those out there that do not like him, that is and was a shame you would not give him a chance, he would have taken the athletic department into a direction that quite frankly we may never see, what a sad thought to lay on the minds of the leaders of our school district, what could have been. As I still fairly new to the area, I can only hope that the administration will start to show some interest and help make the transition for the new athletic director better than what it was for Joe. Joe, if you read this, you may not even know me, but thank you for getting the youth football program started and for the support you have shown to all of the students of Campbell County. Best of luck at Lebanon!
  4. Mustang; Who will the Bishop Brossart leadership look to now for the use of Bob Miller Stadium?
  5. Just took a drive by there this afternoon, no sign, but it is true. Confirmed at the C.A.N. meeting Tuesday night. 92Bird, I can not imagine that the high school leadership would drive two outstanding young athletic leaders away like you are saying! There has to be more to it than that.
  6. Why would Pendleton even think about looking at him?? Maybe the timing is so late to bring someone in with head coaching experience. Buddy made the right move on this one, best of luck to him! Is Simms in line for head coach or will they go outside the school?
  7. Name one Campbell County High School student that attends CCHS becasue Brossart does not have football?
  8. Carver is not a member of the KHSAA Executive Committee, he serves on the KHSAA Football Advisory Committee, the one that wants to add more classes to our already big system. How long will it take you to enter regular season play and try and compete for a district title? I hope you can do it quicker than them old Wildcats of Pendleton County has!
  9. Well 92Bird, I do not know where you get your information, but if they are planning to start fishing, why are they looking at getting rid of the pond? From the information I have, it has become a small concern when people are up there during the school day and the kids are trying to fish for gym class. Also, just so you know, John Hardy is the Associate Principal, not Assistant Principal. That would be an interesting game if Newport and Campbell played, do you think anyone from CC Admin would show up?:flame:
  10. Can not agree with you more 1966, the Fieldhouse will be packed and ready to support the kids on the court tonight. Sometimes it is a shame when others feel that the only way people go to watch basketball if for a particular team. It is still a stable point especially in the 10th Region, people come out to watch basketball!
  11. I think Mason County will give them everything they can! Clark is a tough quick team, but the Royal fans should be in rare form tonight to play the role of the 6th man!
  12. You mean as much as you talk about the Wildcats on this site, you have only cheered for them for the last two years? That is a sign of a typical frontrunning fan! Who are you going to cheer for next season or tonight even since the mighty 'cats have fallen? Montgomery County????????????
  13. Just interesting to see an administrator would actually post to this site!
  14. It is quite obivious that you have some strong inside connections that the rest of the readers and posters do not. At what point do you vote for the 40th District! There has not been a determination as to where the location of the next site will be played. The 10th Region Girls Tournament will be played out of the 40th District next season, but there could be a chance that the boys stay. Next year there are many factors that will go into that choice, for instance the dates for the boys and girls sweet 16 will flip flop due to NCAA Regional Site Selection of Rupp Arena. With that in mind maybe everyone will want to go back to keeping the locations of the boys and girls regional tournaments at seperate sites.
  15. For the first time since I have been apart of BGP, Mustang has finally admitted that he does not have all the answers. It would be nice to hear you say it on the internet sometime as well.
  16. From what I could tell at the game that night, they loved it. The atmosphere in the 10th Region is so much better than the 9th.
  17. Last year Campbell County hosted the girls 10th Region and Montgomery County drove up to play three straight nights in a row. It is not the fault of the schools like Calvary, Silver Grove, Scott, or Campbell County they are apart of a region that is so spread out, but I will tell you it does make it exciting to see the kids get to travel to different areas and compete against different schools. As far as the fans from Falmouth, I wish we could all have runs like you so our fans would come out like that, the real question is this, once the run is over how long will the fans continue to come?
  18. I think the Camels are starting to see exactly what it is going to take to compete in the 10th Region. Harrison takes out Clark at Clark, you have to be ready every night! I wish the Camels would wake up and realize that it is hard work that gets you to the next level not just talent or ability. Best of luck to all the teams at Districts! :dancingpa
  19. I do not think there would be one school in the state of Kentucky that would actually turn down the right opportunity to help generate revenue for their school district, although I sometimes have to question- However, I think what Camel1 is getting at is the simple fact that given the location of schools and the nature of the business, those involved in the negotations of this use of the Campbell County field will make sure that the needs of Campbell County come first!
  20. Correct with that comment Camel1. But the million dollar question, who really runs the KHSAA?
  21. Any program should know that in today's world you do not send them without a bus. I do understand that Calvary car pooled, but Harrison, Bracken-Bus!
  22. So Bracken and Harrison who sign contracts and agree to play in this event, tell their Superintendents not to send them because of the weather the area received in the morning when both teams played afternoon games? What time did they cancel? That is a sad state of affairs when the coaches are just too lazy to bring their kids out to compete against other kids and they have that much influence on Superintendent's to do so.
  23. Nice to see that our Brossart Friends can provide play by play for our team! Bottom line, the Camels are soft and if they do not get any better, hosting the 37th District Tournament will be just that, hosting it. Both the boys and girls programs face Scott and if they do not walk into CCMS with the sense of determination and ready to claim their own court, they will be sitting and watching the March Madness!
  24. The second year in the desert classic and you would think that the school would do more to help draw games other than just PC. Overall good three games. I missed the first one and I understand that Harrison and Bracken Counties Coaches are too soft to stand up for there friend and fellow Coach Reitz. It seems to me that he always goes out of his way to support and promote kids in the 10th Region Basketball and for these two schools to call is off like they did is wrong!
