  1. Berea or Model will never vote for seeding. This is they only way they will ever be able to get the region. They rather take their chances on the draw than seeding. This has been and will always be a problem in this and other districts that draw. If the schools want money, then move the districts to the school, not at EKU. I bet the schools would get more money that way instead of at EKU. EKU makes for a good games, but schools do not get their far share of the money. That's if money is the problem for the small schools.
  2. Clay is in the same boat that Madison Southern was last year. A team that has played well and putting up big numbers. Clay is young team and will, if not this year, next year cause some teams some problems. The QB for Clay is who other teams must control, if not it could make for some close games. Good luck to all teams. Play hard guys, you only have one chance to make memories.
  3. I quess Berea was not joking around after the second game with Central. The game with Scott Co will be worse than Central game. Berea and Model need to vote for seeding.
  4. I agree, but this is what happens when schools elect to draw for the district instead of seeding.
  5. Be willing to work hard and listen to coaches and take advise. Play the game because you want to not to please somebody else. An play against bigger and better players and learn from mistakes and build on them.
  6. If Southern that you are refering to is Madison Southern, they are 16 and 11.
  7. You have 16 teams, games are played all day every day and the place is packed all day. Why can they not switch it between Berea College and Eastern? Change it up Eastern is such a big gym that it does not give you that tourney time feel at times like a smaller gym does. The crowds are not down on the floor and make alot noise. The stands are up off the floor and crowd sometimes can not be felt in the game by the players.
  8. Model may not have the facility, but Berea puts on a pretty big Christmas tourney. I think there is more to it than that.
  9. It will have to come from others higher up in the KHSAA to make this happen because Berea and Model will never do it. They like the idea that one of them can go to the region while Southern and Central takeout one another. Southern has drop one game against Berea this year, they use to play twice a year. I agree that Central and Southern should not play them at all thru out the year if it means nothing come tourney time. Other districts like the idea of the this district is doing this. Also why doesn't this district and region rotate the tourney games at other schools instead it all is at Eastern. Other districts and regions rotate each year so all the schools can gain from it.
  10. 4 out the last 5 year this has happened. This district should go to seeding and the 4 teams play each other twice during the year. I think that would make the weaker teams have to improve if they want to advance. But I am sure Model and Berea will never go for that. To bad that this district will have one weak team going to the region. Southern's record may not look good but at least they have picked up better teams to play this year and with the things that has happened with a couple of players leaving the team have played will.
  11. The Whitley kid should have gotten tossed if he took some swings. Anytime punchs are thrown, the person who throws them is tossed from the game, but the rules must not have applied for this kid.
  12. Based on the stats from the game that were posted in a earlier thread, it would to seem that there were something not right. When one team has a 3 to 1 adv. in fouls and free throws. I talk to couple of people that did go to the game and they said it was bad at the calls that were made. The T that Sourherns' coach got was because he was getting on to his players and the offical must have know he was doing a horible job and T the coach. Did the officals cost Southern the game? Hard to say, but they did control the game and how which team was going to play and which team was not. I do know that Southern never got into the bonous the whole game. Southern has played better the last couple weeks and have time to get thing straighten out by district time. Good luck to Southern the rest of the season.
  13. All you guys make good points about the officals, but there is all ways 1 or 2 that just down right do a poor job. It seems like that they are the same ones night in and night out, they just don't have an off night. But there is several out there that are good, fair and consistant with their calls ever game, no matter who is playing who. I think that is what gets alot of people worked up at games. A offical will make one call at one of the floor, but will not make the same call at the other end. Or he will let one coach run out on the court or get outside the so called coach's box, but the other coach, if he does any of that stuff is told to set down and he is out of the game. I will been to alot high games and have seen these things go on for years. Officals have a tough job, I done it myself, but I always try to be fair to both sides, but some do not. Alot of fans may not know what is going all the time, but there is alot that do and they see officals who are good and they see the ones that are bad.
  14. I would just hate to see him look back and feel bad about quitting. Good at UT.
