  1. Congrats to Jimmy Uebel and Kyle Frimming of Bishop Brossart as well as everyone else.
  2. Are you seriously trying to say that baseball gets breaks from the powers?????
  3. Maybe not the right quote to use, but I believe to use the scores of NCC losing to Beechwood and LCA beating Beechwood is ludicrous. That was a rivalry, and I sincerely believe that Beechwood is in the heads of the Breds each time they play.
  4. I'm not sure, I don't know much, but I think there was a book or something saying that a person is famous if they are related within 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon (they were in this movie with this person who went to high school with this person, etc.....) I may be wrong, but I need some sleep.
  5. So compete, but if you don't win tough, it is life.
  6. Some of you get it and some of you don't. We are talking about a state championship. It is supposed to be hard to accomplish. Why water it down to make some kids feel good. Be happy knowing you worked as hard as possible to accomplish however far you get, but realistically, one should be the best of the best to be a legitamate state championship. If one wants to feel dominance over their particular area, schedule rival teams, or be proud of a district championship. So you win your district, that means you are the best in that area. What does it matter if you win a diluted state championship? Nothing, but it means everything if you win a real one.
  7. Good. We are talking about a state championship. The team I follow is Campbell County who did not make the play-offs. Although that occured I am very happy with their season and view it as successful. A team can set different goals, and be content and proud of accomplishments without a state championship. I don't ever want to hear of a state championship becoming diluted, because it is supposed to be the cream of the crop.
  8. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: agree 100%
  9. Eastern Kentucky University, but I am not certain if he is playing baseball, and I want to say that he isn't, but I'm not 100% sure.
  10. Evan McDole (Brossart) - Northern Kentucky University Ryan Anderson (Brossart) - Vincennes University Dren Hoffman (Beechwood) - Vincenned University
  11. If you are talking about the district tournament then obviously it was Pendleton, but if you are talking about the whole year it would be Brossart. During the regular season Brossart smoked Campbell while Campbell smoked Brossart in the tournament with the same two pitchers going for both teams both games. So out of the two lopsided games I guess they were equal, but Campbell rightfully deserves all the praise that they have gotten so far, because when it counted they turned it up a notch.
  12. There has been for a long time now. I just don't know if anything changed with the realignment.
  13. Isn't the district a random draw?
  14. .........Cringes at the memory......... :madman:
  15. I'm pretty sure his facts are straight. I was also on BBHS academic team. To compare the teams is apples to oranges (as cliche as that is). I've said this numerous time also. BBHS academic team is a laid back activity for kids to participate in just to hang out. In other words it isn't really taken serous at all, while at CCHS, it is taken more seriously than most sports. We are comparing team sports. Most quick recall matches are manned by one person who answers the majority of questions. Have you ever been to a match. If we are comparing academic teams, why even compare them, CCHS wins in a landslide. If we compare overall academics for a school, the same thing is at stake in BBHS favor. Maybe Campbell offers more classes (they should, they are a 4A public school), but to say that the overall academics is better at CCHS is basically absurd. So let's see, boast about what, academic team and volleyball, or maybe baseball? Recently, baseball has been pretty even, as each team usually wins rather convincingly (albeit CCHS when it counts), but to be bragging about pretty much any acomplishment, CCHS is the wrong school. As far as scholarship money goes, let's see in the class of 05, I am getting paid to go to Louisville, and UKMustangFan is getting paid to go to NKU. That is two kids out of two on bgp. What about the Brossart grad receiving a full academic ride to Vanderbilt? How about you look at percentage of kids recieving scholarships compared to numbers, Wouldn't that make sense, as we are comparing single A to 4A? As far as the topic at hand, I'm no moderator, but I know the topic is about the 10th region next year. With many schools graduating many seniors, the region is as wide open as it ever has been in the past.
  16. For Brossart, I look for Uebel to emerge as the ace of the staff. Out of the rest of the pitchers, he has experiance, and is the most consistant. Nathan Mutsch has unbelievable talent that hasn't even been tapped yet, so the sky is the limit with him. Frimming is another talented pitcher who can start, but is also very effective coming in relief. Chris Simon will also make some noise on the varsity scene. As the Junior class grows into strictly varsity roles, the will have theirs strengeths in pitching. 9 seniors graduated, but IMO, they will suprise some people next year.
  17. Swanson did not pitch against the Mustangs.
  18. Looks to be a very good Senior-laden team returning for the Camels, but we all know pitching wins championships. If they can get a 3 and possibly 4 down in their rotation, they will do very well next year.
