  1. I think the off-sides call they missed in the 1st Half was a bigger blow to UK than the second at the end. UK would have most likely lined up for a long field goal.

I just caught the end of the first half on my lunch break, I haven't actually got time to sit down and watch the game yet (I just got home from work) so I'm not really sure about that call.

All I saw was the UK touchdown, Leak's awesome scoring drive, and the drive that led to the clock running out.

  2. I certainly am not one to make excuses for a loss, but I personally wonder how the game would've turned out had the clock stopped with 1 second left in the first half as opposed to running out. I can't say that UK would've scored a touchdown, but in the back of my mind it will always be a possibility.

I don't know how that rule works though... Does it take 2 seconds to spike the ball? I mean... I know there's the rule in the NBA that .4 is the least amount of time needed to take a shot, and anything less has to be a tip-in.. But is that a rule in college football, or just a bad decision by the refs?

  3. Where's Hangman on this thread, curious how he feels his Seahawks will fare?

Have to take the home team in this one!

You know I'm around. :D Work calls in a few, though, so I must make it short and sweet.

I like the Seahawks in this one, but a few things scare me. The Giants are coming off a big win, and will no doubt be carrying some momentum. On the Seattle side, they haven't exactly dominated this season but they're getting the Ws. Few people recall that last year the Seahawks started 0-1, and didn't even really start clicking until week 5 or so, when they had a 2-2 record and didn't lose again until resting the starters against the Packers. The years they've come out strong out of the gate, they were a huge disappointment at the end of the season. With that in mind, they're lousy performances so far don't really bother me too bad, and I expect them to start clicking soon.

Porkchop is going to be out a while, which is not good... But I'm hearing that Chris Spencer (their 1st round pick last year) is doing good in practice, and they aren't expecting much of a dropoff.

Alexander is due for a big game, hopefully his injury isn't serious. He hasn't even really come close to 100 yards yet, but considering they're stacking against the leftside now, and Hutchinson is gone, I don't really know what's expected of him. Possibly he should start going right more?

I don't consider this a bias statement, but I don't think the NFL is going to find anything up in Seattle. The way the field is set up, it's easy for the crowd to distract the opposing team. Throw in the fact that they're going to try to outdo last year's performance, and I expect it to get EXTREMELY loud up there.

I expect it to be a good game, and hopefully the Seahawks pull it out in the end. Hopefully it's not another OT thriller, I don't think my heart could take it.

Seahawks win it 31-24... But any W I'll take.

That short and sweet enough?

  4. He had a good year last year as a return man, and like you said he has potential. Who knows if he'll live up to it. Green Bay needed to try something though...

He was good last year, but he had more alcohol problems in the offseason, and that's the only reason he isn't back in Minnesota again. He can't get his act together, but I really wish he could. He is a great guy to watch play.

  5. To get AI they are going to have to give up Pierce or Green. I forgot about the Wally trade.

No, they are going to give up Rondo, Theo Ratliff, and possibly Al Jefferson. The deal has been in the works for a couple of weeks, and there has never been any mention of adding Green or Pierce.

The only kink is trying to find a 3rd team...Maybe the Cavs, maybe the Jazz...

  6. Pitino didn't even win the NBA finals with the Celtics in 98. For that matter Pitino didn't win his division with the Celtics in 98. I think you must have been joking.

He didn't win when we assembled a crew of Delk, Mercer, Walker, and McCarty at once... He couldn't win with his national championship crew, but he could with Tubby's?

The Tubby team was definitely not as talented as the 96 crew, in no way, shape, or form.. And they couldn't win one together in the big leagues.

  7. I think they'll play better as a team... They did lose some good talent though, some people are trying to act like they've lost nothing, and have everything coming back and then some. That's just not the case... Sparks, Moss, and Rondo were all very good players who were quite significant to the team.

That said, I think they'll win more games and get a better seed, but I don't know if that will really make them 'better'. Anyone see what I mean?

  8. Wecome to BGP's from another "Old Guy" (BigZig). Before you let yourself engage in some very frustrating exchanges with various members it is often times good to look at the profile to see if they list their birthdate. I find that anyone born after 1985 refuses to accept the fact that their was life before they blessed us with their arrival on this earth.

How nice of you to say.

Nice to know I don't have the respect of some of those older than me.
