I'm tracking possible flights from Donovan to Lexington.
We did this already, years ago. Heard it was a done deal.

I still say something went down in the locker room at halftime of the A&M game. His facial expression, demeanor, and enjoyment level were all different in that second half and last night. He needs to mature physically and emotionally. Another year at UK or somewhere else would have him ready to make the jump.
I think he should transfer to Louisville personally. New school, new coach, new opportunity.

His dad's face after the game screamed, "your butt is going back to school" lol jk
I saw somebody else mention that too.

But I really struggle seeing him play against guards in the NBA.
He can't. At least not currently. That's why I think there's a chance he returns.

@TheDeuce Who do you have in this one?
I think Trinity wins and I'm not sure it's that close. Could be wrong though.

I could actually see Reed returning. Sure he's been touted as a high draft pick, but he could rake in NIL. If he can eliminate the silly turnovers and improve defensively, he may actually be able to increase his stock for next year.
It's unlikely, but I would not be shocked at all if he's back.

It will probably be Cal. However, if it’s not him. These are guys I would try to get.
Billy Donovan
Jay Wright
Brad Stevens
Bruce Pearl
Rick Pitino (if they want a guy for 2 to 3 years before having to look again)
With that said I’m not sure how realistic those choices would be. Also Dan Hurley and Mark Few wouldn’t leave their schools. So if I had to guess the next coach at UK if they move on from Cal will be Tom Izzo. I see them playing it sort of safe with the next hire after missing out on the guys above, and then Izzo will fit right in with the normal coaching cycle for UK in its history. Unless we want to count these last 8 years for Cal count as theTubby/Hall years. Then the next coach in the UK cycle will be an alcoholic like Sutton/Billy G. So need to figure out which coaches like to drink, and we then will know who our guy would be.
Literally none of those guys are coming to Kentucky.

This is why I've been saying the last few years that Mitch Barnhart needs to be on the hot seat. Giving a coach that kind of deal was insane.
The buyout is criminal.

That makes me think Mick Cronin, since all the other candidates are still working on winning NCAA games.
Unless, of course, they are sniffing around what's left of Tony Bennett at Virginia. LOL
FAU could lose this weekend. I could see them losing on Sunday and Dusty May being announced Tuesday or Wednesday.

Sounding like the Scott Drew noise is being wrapped up, in that he’s likely not going to leave Baylor. that's what most expected. We’ll see who emerges as the #2 candidate. Could be wrapped up early next week.

Interesting that the portal opens today and not later in tournament schedule. With that being the case, I am surprised there aren't more teams opting out of the NIT.
The portal shouldn't open until after the tournament, but that's for another thread.

Shaka is happy at Marquette.
Pearl may be interested, but he's getting what he wants at Auburn.
