  1. MC coach himself has stated that current cast of Kavanaugh, Simpson, and Rhodes were very talented last year, but were playing behind three talented seniors. BTW...I wouldn't call the MC kicker's (Blake) cleats (soccer shoes) outlandish. They are royal blue (Nike Vapors) and match the MC all royal blue uniform. I would call them outlandish if the were a color that didn't match the uniform. In this case maybe a yellow, green or red?
  2. MC kicker Ryan Blake has to be loving it right now. I think he may have 15 extra points already this season(?). I'd think this would place him close to the top in extra points made. BTW...I think everyone of his kickoffs were into the endzone not allowing Dunbar any chance at a return.
  3. Good points...there has to be a whole lot of love for the sport and the desire to shape and mold young athletes to be adults one day.
  4. I agree most coaches are underpaid, but are they (Laurel Co.) paid any less than any of the other coaches who coach the "other sports"? At most schools unless you coach football or basketball you are not going to make much. So if anyone is coaching just to make money, they're not going to make much in HS. In fact, for soccer, some of the best qualified coaches are making just as much money, if not more, coaching club "select" soccer. If they get involved with the right club, they will be supported by a highly motivated administrative staff and parents who are all striving to make better players and teams by providing the best training and competition possible. In addition, they will have opportunities to better themselves by receiving additional training and coaching certifications that all lead to better/higher paying coaching positions…if that’s what they desire.
