Agree with you 100%. It is a pleasure to watch Owens play. Coach Hinson does an outstanding job. Another tough loss for Augusta. Hate to see them dig such a big hole. If they could only play 2 halves. Congrats to the Saints.

Sad but true. I'm sure you can think of several players that didn't score a lot but were great players also. Ike Reynolds was one. Hard to say how many assists he had to the school's 2nd leading scorer. Hard to say how many rebounds Buddy Baker had too. Coach Phil White had a tremendous amount of rebounds also. But, as you say, high school athletes don't get that kind of recognition.

I think the post said "top 5 players", not the top 4 scorers. This is just the kind of wrong message we teach our young kids. There is a lot more to being a good player than just scoring, such as defense, assists, rebounding and just being a "team" player.

Agreed, White needs to hit the bunnies he's missing. Your point guard needs to be able to shoot. The ref had a mental lapse at the end of the game, but Augusta had their chances. White wasn't the only one to miss the easy ones, but give Bracken credit, they played hard, as did Augusta. Exciting game with a great crowd. Bracken's Williams obscene gestures to the Augusta crowd was totally uncalled for. I'm sure his coach didn't see it. C'mon son, show some class.

I would like to say Augusta by 10, but..... as said before, you don't know which Augusta team will show up. If the players will keep their eyes out of the stands, and focus on the game, do all the fundamental things, (such as block out and set good screens), and LISTEN TO THE COACHES, it could possibly be more than a 10 point game. Either way, it should be exciting. Get tough A-town, and be physical!

The panthers need to suck it up and get tough. If they all played as fearless as Groves, they would be undefeated now. He plays all out every game whether he's hitting shots or not. He must have had 20 rebounds against Montgomery. GET TOUGH PANTHERS, or it's going to be a long season!!!
