  1. It is precisely what they want from us. They simply don't have the means to destroy us militarily, but they can effectuate the subverting of our principles and values.

That's where you're wrong. Its not what they want from us. They don't understand phrases like "compassionate war" and "Geneva Convention." They think we're too weak to do what needs to be done. We made the same mistake when we surrendered the Philipines to the Japanese. They hated those who surrendered because it showed a lack of honor. The saying "know thine enemy" doesn't mean know who they are. It means understand them; know why and how they fight; understand what being a warrier means to them; and, learn what it takes to break them.

WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama left the door open Tuesday to prosecuting Bush administration officials who devised the legal authority for gruesome terrorism-suspect interrogations, saying the United States lost "our moral bearings" with use of the tactics.

The question of whether to bring charges against those who devised justification for the methods "is going to be more of a decision for the attorney general within the parameters of various laws and I don't want to prejudge that," Obama said.

The president discussed the issue of terrorism-era interrogation tactics with reporters as he finished an Oval Office meeting with visiting King Abdullah II of Jordan.

  3. It is my understanding that sodomy is generally used in rape cases to further add to the sentence (something of which I'm not opposed to).

Sodomy in the 1st-3rd degree all deal with forced, underage or guardian sodomy and are all felonies. Sodomy in the 4th degree is a misdemeanor. And I have personally seen someone get an additional 5 years added on for Sodemy in the 1st degree.

  4. Um, he had to play for the worst owner in professional sports history, and arguably the worst franchise in all of sports.

To paraphrase Chris Rock, I'm not saying Corey Dillon's antics were right, but I understand. And I completely understand Houshmandzadeh getting in a few parting shots.

Saying Mike Brown is worst than George Steinbrenner, Al Davis and Jerry Jones just seems wrong to me. It's like comparing diarrhea to cholera. Yeah, they're both bad, but its a matter of degree.

I often wonder if Paul Brown has asked why they don't carry any of the Bengal games in heaven.

They've got a coach with a 200-73 record at the school. 6 NCAA appearances in the last 7 years. 2 Final Fours and 4 Elite Eights in the past 5 years. Yeah, they should kick him to the curb for having an affair with the wife of an assistant who is defending Pitino, even if he's done nothing wrong. Makes perfect sense to me.

I'm sure if the same happened to some of your all's favorite coaches, you'd be out building the gallows yourself. NOT!

How about a little less passion and a little commonsense?

And Warrior: this post was directed at the posters in general, not at you.

  6. HHSDad, in my opinion you are taking the bolded comments out of context ... maybe not the first one, but definitely the second one.

What we as conservatives have failed to understand over the past 8 years is that everything we have been accused of, no matter how silly it sounded, comes straight out of the liberal strategy book. The left was accusing the right only because it was what they would do if in the same situation. I always thougnt the left was fairly harmless with some of its whacko factions. I never really realized how dangerous they are and how sucessful they've been over the past 50 years at slowly suckering the people of this country.
